The Japanese sell sheets for two new Pokémon Card Game packs Premium Champion Pack - EX x M x BREAK Pack (プレミアムチャンピオンパック) and Kamex Mega Battle Special Pack (カメックスメガバトルスペシャルパック) were released to Japanese retailers this week. Both packs will be released on April 16th, 2016.

The Premium Champion Pack - EX x M x BREAK Pack will feature 131 cards and 9 Basic Energy. Booster packs will contain 10 cards and cost 463 yen plus tax. The Kamex Mega Battle Special Pack will cost 900 yen plus tax and will contain 1 Premium Champion Pack booster, 2 The Psychic King Rising booster packs and a Pokémon EX card. Players must participate in a TCG tournament in order to be eligible to purchase the Kamex Mega Battle Special Pack.

The official Japanese Pokémon webiste announced the details for Pikachu Mega Campaign Part 2 (強★カワ ピカチュウのメガキャンペーン第2弾) which will took place at the Pokémon Centers in January of 2016. Details of the first part of the campaign are available by clicking here.


From January 1st, 2016 until January 31st, 2016, players of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire can receive 1 of 5 different Pokémon at random each period. There were 5 separate distributions periods, so players could return to try and get one of the other Pokémon. Tabunne, Lucario, Tyltalis, Yadoran and Yamirami where the distributed Pokémon, each of which could Mega Evolve from the Mega Stone they were holding.

Period 2: January 9th, 2016 until January 15th, 2016

Poncho Pikachu Figures

All seven Pikachu Poncho figures will be appearing in popular capsule toy vending machines at all the Pokémon Centers starting on January 16th, 2016.

Pokémon Card Game Limited Goods

Various Pokémon Trading Card Game goods will be available for a limited time in January 2016 only at the Pokémon Centers and are unattainable elsewhere. A box set of card shields featuring the artwork of Pikachu wearing Ponchos was available.

Business Cards and Events

Various business cards featuring the Pikachu wearing Ponchos were available while supplies lasted to patrons of the stores. Poncho wearing Pikachu mascots also appeared to allow people to take pictures with them.

The official Japanese YouTube Channel posted a video for the Pikachu Mega Campaign (ピカチュウの メガキャンペーン) which will take place at the Pokémon Centers starting on December 12th, 2015. This is part one of the campaign and another part will be announced at a later date. Images from the video have been added to an Imageboard thread.


Patrons that spend at least 2,000 yen on merchandise at the store can receive 1 of 8 different Poncho Pikachu cards with an accompanying Clear File. The presents feature: Pikachu with Mega Rayquaza poncho, Pikachu with Mega Tabunne Poncho, Pikachu with Mega Tyltalis poncho, Pikachu with Mega Yadoran poncho, Pikachu with Mega Lizardon X poncho, Pikachu with Mega Lizardon Y poncho and Pikachu with Mega Lucario poncho.


Those that spend at least a 1,000 yen on TCG merchandise during the campaign, they can receive the Pokémon Center Poncho-wearing Pikachu (ポンチョを着たピカチュウ) 203/XY-P card. It features the artwork of Pikachu in Mega Tabunne, Mega Lucario and Mega Yadoran poncho's. Details of this card have been added to our TCG dex.


An alternate-colored Diancie will be distributed from December 12th, 2015 until December 31st, 2015 to players of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Details were not revealed.


Players of Pokémon Tretta Ultimate Z can also receive a Mega Lizardon X or Mega Gyarados trophy tretta.

The sell sheets for the 10th XY TCG expansion set in Japan have been released to retailers and it is called Pokémon Card Game - XY BREAK - The Psychic King Rising (ポケモンカードゲームXY BREAK めざめる超王). The set will be released in Japan on March 18th, 2016 and will contain at least 78 cards. This will be the third XY BREAK set in Japan as the second BREAK set will be released in December. The booster packs will feature Mega Foodin artwork and will cost 150yen + tax for 5 cards.


A Mega Foodin deck box and a package of 32 Zygarde Perfect Forme card sleeves will also be released on March 18th, 2016 for 362 yen + tax each.


A M Tabunne EX Mega Battle Deck 60 and a Zygarde EX Perfect Battle Deck 60 will also be released. Both decks feature 60 cards and will each retail for 1,556 yen plus tax.

The official Pokémon YouTube channel updated with a video showcasing the reveal of a Trickster Zoroark Event Distribution for players of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire via the Nintendo Network. The Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Happy Meal will be available at participating McDonald’s locations in the US and Canada from Friday, November 27 to Wednesday, December 23.

The Happy Meal will include one of eight Pokémon figures from the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video games: Pikachu, Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Lugia, Rayquaza, Mega Latios, Wobbuffet, and the newly discovered Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. Next Client Version 2.32

The next major game update, version 2.32, will come out on November 4th. This version will include support for the exciting new expansion XY - BREAKthrough.

XY Basic Theme Deck Balance

In version 2.32 we also plan to make some balance changes to the XY Basic Blue, XY Basic Red and XY Basic Green theme decks that were introduced in version 2.31. Currently, these decks are a little too good, when compared with other available theme decks. The planned changes will pull their relative power back some. Look for details in the 2.32 patch notes when that version goes live.

Unlimited Tournaments Suspended

With the Shiftry turn 1 win currently an issue with Unlimited game play, we have suspended Tournaments in that format until a deeper resolution to that issue can be put in place. Simply banning the card from Unlimited is not planned, since the card is still available from boosters and there needs to be somewhere that the card is valid. Thanks in advance for your patience while a comprehensive solution is implemented.

The Pokémon Company International announced the XY BREAKthrough TCG expansion on September 23rd, 2015 and it was released on November 4th, 2015. It featured cards from the XY8 expansion set Blue Shock (青い衝撃) and Red Flash (赤い閃光) which were released in Japan on September 26th, 2015.

The sell sheets for the 9th XY TCG expansion set in Japan have been released to retailers and it is called Pokémon Card Game - XY BREAK - Rage that Breaks the Heavens (ポケモンカードゲームXY BREAK 破天の怒り). The set will be released in Japan on December 11th, 2015 and will contain at least 80 cards. This will be the second XY BREAK set in Japan as the first BREAK set will be released later this month. The booster packs will feature Mega Red Gyarados artwork and will cost 150yen + tax for 5 cards.


A deck box and a package of 32 card sleeves will also be released on December 11th, 2015 for 362 yen + tax each.


On December 26th, 2015, three Battle Strength Decks will be released that each contain 16 cards. A Leafia set will feature Grass and Fighting type cards, a Thunders set will feature Fire and Lighting type cards and a Showers set will feature Water and Psychic type cards. Each set will cost 650yen + tax and will come with a Pokémon EX card.
