As Meowth was attempting to get out of the mud, an Alolan Meowth appeared by the shore line. When Jessie and James arrived to get Meowth, they mistook the Alolan Meowth for as it looked like their Meowth with mud on it. It tried to impress them by offering drinks and polishing their Poké Ball collection only for Meowth to arrive and be mad that the wanted Alolan Meowth to join Team Rocket.

It later learned more about Team Rocket and managed to get money from Meowth's account to afford a ticket to Team Rocket Headquarters where both Giovanni and Matori were impressed with its cunning as it had been quite helpful.
