Summary
The anime rerun episode for this week featured Kenji and Professor Okido in Masara Town. Rocket Gang agents Yamato and Kosaburo arrive on the scene and try to steal the Pokémon. Can Kenji and Professor Okido stop the Rocket Gang?

This week, Robert participates in a PokéSun Card Battle against Yoshio Kojima (小島よしお) & Eikō Kano (狩野英孝). Yoshio Kojima is a famous Japanese comedian known for appearing in small bathing suits and during the card battle he was only wearing a small suit. Eiko Kano is also a famous Japanese comedian and actor.

Professor Red starts off the show by revealing his latest invention, the New RED053 Double Battle System (RED053 ポケットモンスター ドバトル システム ニュー), a hard hat with a card rest. The crew asks the Professor where the normal damage balloon counters would go now that they would be wearing a hat and he shows them the new damage counter stickers that go on the hat. Director Golgo gets a large fan and 'tests' the damage counter system by smacking Yamamoto on the head as he was wearing the new hat.

Dr. Takashima (タカシマ先生) of the Pokémon Card Game company in Japan once again returned to provide insightful information about the cards throughout the battle. He quickly introduced the audience to the latest TCG expert deck released in Japan, the Pokémon Card Game Expert Deck Leafia VS Metagross + Online (ポケモンカードゲーム エキスパートデッキ リーフィアVSメタグロス +Online). Cards from these decks were used throughout the battle.

Baba starts off with Eevee (007/015) and Yoshio Kojima counters by revealing his first Pokémon, Nokocchi (007/014). Players put their card on the New RED053 Double Battle System hats Professor Red made and energy cards for the Pokémon are hung around the neck of the player with a rope. On Yoshio Kojima turn, he picked up Metagross (005/014) from the pile and Baba picks up the MCのおしゃべり (013/015) supporter card.

Throughout the battle, the players battle using cards from the new set and the attacks were carried out in various ways. The most amusing attack was used by Baba's Roserade's (002/015) PokéPower - Energy Signal (エナジーシグナル) which super poisons the opponent and with the combination of Leafia's (しょうきのかぜ) special status attack, Robert was able to deal 50 damage. The damage was conducted by hooking up a hair dryer to a stinky shoe and blowing the smell into Yoshio Kojima face.

Baba used the same Roserade / Leafia battle combination against Eikō Kano, but instead of poisoning his Pokémon, he confused it. To show that he was confused, the staff brought out a circus wheel, attached him to it and flipped up upside down while they blew the smell from the stinky shoe in his face, dealing his Metagross 50 damage. Normally when a players Pokémon is confused in the TCG, the player turns the card 180 degrees so that it is upside-down from their perspective.

The battle continued for a few more rounds until Yoshio Kojima (小島よしお) & Eikō Kano (狩野英孝) ended up defeating Robert in the PokéSun Card Battle. For winning they received a Pokémon Daisuki Club card and 6 new cards from the upcoming TCG expansion Revived Legends (ポケモンカードゲームLEGEND 「よみがえる伝説」). The newly revealed cards are: Entei & Raikou LEGEND (エンテイ&ライコウLEGEND), Suicune & Entei LEGEND (スイクン&エンテイLEGEND) and Raikou & Suicune LEGEND (ライコウ&スイクンLEGEND).

The Pokémon Sunday News segment reminded viewers of the Latios and Latias A5 stationary folder available at the Pokémon Center's until January 25th, 2010.

During the episode preview for next, Shoko was shown displaying a large card with a question mark covering it. A new announcement during the Pokémon Game Arena will be revealed on the show.

The card battle episodes are always fun. The smelly shoe was funny and the 'poison' drink made me laugh. It was also nice to see that they revealed new cards for the upcoming expansion on the show.
