Case A: The serial code you entered is wrong:
If the game tells you "The serial code or password is wrong. Please double check the serial code or password you have." when you entered the serial code during step 5, some numbers or letters have been entered wrong.
Check the serial code written on the special pre-order ticket again and enter it one more time.

If you have multiple games, please check that you haven't already received the gift in another game. If multiple users are playing the same game on the same Nintendo Switch, please check that another user hasn't used the serial code. You can check this by selecting "Link" -> "Mystery Gift" -> "Check Gifts" from the menu screen.

Case C: Airplane Mode is "ON":
If the game tells you "Please set Airplane Mode to "OFF". You can change this is the Quick Settings menu." when you entered the serial code during step 5, you are unable to connect to the Internet because the Nintendo Switch's Airplane Mode is set to "ON".
Please set Airplane Mode to "OFF" either by holding down the HOME button to access the Quick Settings or by using the "Airplane Mode" option in "Settings" on the Nintendo Switch HOME menu.

Case D: Your copy of "Pocket Monsters Let's Go! Pikachu/Let's Go! Eievui" is not the latest version:
If the game tells you "You will need to update your game. Please restart the game and update (when you restart, all data that has not been saved will be lost)." when you entered the serial code during step 5, your "Pocket Monsters Let's Go! Pikachu/Let's Go! Eievui" game's update data may not be the latest version. Please place the cursor on the game's icon on the HOME menu and press the + button.
When the menu appears, please select the "Update software" option, then choose "Update via the Internet" to receive the most recent update date.
*Updating is free.

Masachika Ichimura is returning as a guest voice actor

He will be playing the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, just like he did in the first movie.

Ichimura gave us the following comment regarding his enthusiasm towards the second Pokémon movie he'll be appearing in,

Mewtwo, the Pokémon that's a legend to everyone, is evolving further and returning once again.
This movie saw me waking my internal "Mewtwo soul" back up to perform the role.
This year's "Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution", resurrected after 21 years, is the first ever Pokémon movie to be animated entirely in full 3DCG.
I want to bring the power of the legendary Pokémon "Mewtwo" to absolutely everyone...
both those of you that saw the first movie and those of you that didn't!
Come, come to the theater!

Story

Let the entire world know of this.
About the ultimate starting point.

The mythical Pokémon Mew is said to only show itself to adventurers who possess both "a pure heart and a strong desire to meet it". It is said to be the "origin" of all Pokémon, and as Pokémon researchers all over the world seek its whereabouts, a scientist finally discovers a Mew fossil and starts tempting God, involving himself in a forbidden act based around said fossil.

"Where is this? Who am I...?"

A legendary Pokémon born unto this world by the ego of a human that wanted to create a strong Pokémon. Its name is even Mewtwo. And as Mewtwo, serving as the ultimate weapon, repeatedly carried out experiments without even understanding why it existed, it harbored a hatred towards the human that had birthed it.

"I hereby strike back at the mankind that birthed me!"

At long last, the complete, immortal masterpiece STRIKES BACK all over the world in full 3DCG the summer of 2019!!

The 2nd official trailer for Pokémon Detective Pikachu was published on February 26th, 2019 by Warner Bros. Pictures on their official YouTube channel.

Press Release - Detective Pikachu - Official Trailer 2

The world of Pokémon comes to life!

The first-ever live-action Pokémon movie, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character in the first-ever live-action movie based on the iconic face of the global Pokémon brand—one of the world’s most popular, multi-generation entertainment properties and most successful media franchises of all time.

Fans everywhere can now experience Pikachu on the big screen as never before, as a talking detective Pikachu, a Pokémon like no other. The film also showcases a wide array of beloved Pokémon characters, each with its own unique abilities and personality.

The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.

“POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” also stars Justice Smith (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) as Tim; Kathryn Newton (“Lady Bird,” TV’s “Big Little Lies”) as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story; and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (“Godzilla,” “The Last Samurai”) as Lt. Yoshida.

Directed by Rob Letterman (“Goosebumps,” “Monsters Vs. Aliens”), the “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” creative filmmaking team includes two-time Oscar nominated director of photography John Mathieson (“The Phantom of the Opera,” “Gladiator”), production designer Nigel Phelps (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies”) and Oscar-winning editor Mark Sanger (“Gravity”). Visual effects are by Moving Picture Company (“Wonder Woman”) and Framestore (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”).

Launched in 1996 to overwhelming response, the Pokémon brand is a global sensation that now encompasses a robust video gaming fandom with over 300 million units sold worldwide; the Pokémon Trading Card Game available in 11 languages with more than 23.6 billion cards shipped; an animated television series in its 21st season that is available in more than 160 countries; and over 20 animated films; as well as books, manga comics, music, toys, merchandise, and apps, including the wildly popular Pokémon GO, that has been downloaded over 850 million times and is enjoyed across the globe by fans of all ages.

“POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” is set for release on Friday, May 10, 2019.

The film will be distributed outside of Japan and China by Warner Bros. Pictures, in Japan by Toho Company, Ltd. and by Legendary East in China.
