Get ready for summer with Pokémon GO Fest 2022’s Ultra Unlocks!

Trainers,
We’re beyond excited to detail Pokémon GO Fest 2022’s Ultra Unlocks!

We can’t wait to see everybody at this year’s in-person Pokémon GO Fest events! Whether it's during our global Pokémon GO Fest event or the live events in Berlin, Seattle, or Sapporo, there are loads of ways to get in on the fun!

Unlike past years, this year’s Ultra Unlock will not be a single event. Instead, Trainers will have certain Global Challenges to complete during each Pokémon GO Fest event—such as defeating a certain number of Team GO Rocket members—which, if completed, will unlock an upgraded version of a later event during the Season of GO!

Because there are multiple Pokémon GO Fest celebrations happening this year, Trainers all over the world will have multiple chances to trigger specific Ultra Unlock bonuses. The initial two-day global event on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022 will have its own hourly Global Challenges on Saturday to trigger the first Ultra Unlock bonus, and the in-person Pokémon GO Fest events that follow will also have their own unique Global Challenges tied to Ultra Unlocks for events later in the Season.

Even if you can’t make it to the events in Berlin, Seattle, or Sapporo, you’ll still be able to play along wherever you are and help make progress toward those Ultra Unlock bonuses!

Trainers will be able to earn Ultra Unlock bonuses by completing Global Challenges during the following events.

Global Pokémon GO Fest: If Trainers complete at least 20 Global Challenges, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for Adventure Week.

Pokémon GO Fest Berlin: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for the anniversary event.

Pokémon GO Fest Seattle: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for a to-be-revealed event.

Pokémon GO Fest Sapporo: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for a to-be-revealed event.

Information about each event’s Ultra Unlock bonuses will be revealed within one weekday after the corresponding Pokémon GO Fest event ends. Look out for updates via social media, in-game news, and push notifications. Let’s GO get ready to earn some Ultra Unlock bonuses!

Tickets to Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle are on sale now!

Trainers, Pokémon GO Fest continues its world tour with a stop in Seattle, Washington. Seattle Center Park and the city of Seattle will host this massive event from Friday, July 22, 2022, to Sunday, July 24, 2022. And yes, you read that right: this year’s Pokémon GO Fest is too big to be contained in a single park, so this incredible event will happen in the city itself. With two unique event experiences each day—one in the park and one happening in Seattle—there’s more to explore than ever before!

Tickets
Tickets to Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle are available now! All tickets are US$25.00** (plus applicable taxes and fees) and are available on a first come, first served basis. Please note: tickets are limited and will be available for purchase while supplies last. Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle attendees may only purchase tickets for one day of the three-day event.

Morning session and afternoon session
Trainers who purchase a ticket will split their day between event experiences that happen in Seattle Center Park and downtown Seattle. When purchasing your ticket, you will select which part of the day you’d like to experience in the park.

  • A ticket for the morning session offers the event experience within the Seattle Center Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the city event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
  • A ticket for the afternoon session offers the city event experience from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the park event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

Please note: Only Trainers with a valid ticket for the applicable session will be able to play within Seattle Center Park. There will be a one-hour intermission between sessions to allow Trainers time to move between areas.

During the citywide event experience, ticket-holding Trainers will experience event-exclusive gameplay in downtown Seattle. Event gameplay will not be available to ticket-holding Trainers outside Seattle.

Event experience
Trainers who purchase a ticket to Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle will be able to enjoy the following in Seattle Center Park on their selected event day and time.
  • Complete event-exclusive Special Research to encounter Sky Forme Shaymin as you adventure within Seattle Center Park.
  • Explore four real-world habitats—two of which are unique to the Seattle event. Each habitat includes unique Pokémon and its very own Collection Challenge.
  • Cloud Sanctuary: Like the iconic Space Needle, reach for the sky and soar amongst the clouds with Togetic, Woobat, Rufflet, and more!

  • The Oasis: Looking for a tropical respite amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle? Kick back with Alolan Exeggutor, Sand Cloak Burmy, Gible, Panpour, and more.
  • Dreamy Mindscape: Feeling a bit Drowzee? Hoping to curl up for a nap with Teddiursa? Why not catch a little snooze with Pokémon like Snorlax and Litwick? Sleep well!
  • Electric Garden: A fantastical garden with a distinct static in the air. Pokémon such as Hisuian Voltorb, Combee, Foongus, and Helioptile will be drawn to this space.
  • Be sure to visit the Trading Post to meet and trade with Trainers at the event, or test your mettle against other Trainers at the Battle Ground.
  • Enjoy a plethora of in-person photo ops—including the chance to take a photo with Pikachu or Eevee!
  • A special version of the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 T-shirt will be available for sale exclusively at this and other in-person Pokémon GO Fest 2022 events.
  • Make up to six Special Trades, and enjoy a reduced Stardust cost for every trade made during event hours!
Ticket-holding Trainers will enjoy the following during the citywide event experience within downtown Seattle.
  • A second Special Research story will be available, featuring a reward encounter with a Pokémon that has yet to appear in Pokémon GO.
  • Pokémon from all of the Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle habitats will be appearing in the wild.
  • Claim up to nine total daily Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
  • Team GO Rocket balloons will be appearing more often, and defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts will earn you twice as many Mysterious Components.
Ticket-holding Trainers will enjoy the following during both the city and park event experiences.
  • Shiny Combee and Shiny Panpour will make their Pokémon GO debuts.
  • Eggs will require one-half their normal Hatch Distance.
  • Take a snapshot at the event for a surprise!
  • Event-themed Field Research will be available.

Niantic has announced that new social features will be coming to Pokémon GO sometime in the next few months. Also announced was that starting on May 23rd, 2022, the shop’s 1 PokéCoin Event Box will no longer include Remote Raid Passes. Niantic did not announce that the price of the 3 Remote Raid Passes would be going up from 250 PokéCoin to 300 PokéCoin and the price has already been adjusted in the store.

New social features, as well as updates for in-person raids

Trainers,
Today we’re announcing new social features to help bring people together to enjoy Pokémon GO, new bonuses for participating in local raid battles, and changes to items in the in-game shop.

The new social features—some of which are based in a separate Niantic app—have been tested over time and will be available in Pokémon GO sometime in the next few months. Our hope is that these features will make it easier for Trainers to communicate with each other, discover new communities, and enjoy local raid battles.

We know that this feature is much needed and we look forward to making the social experience even better over time.

As of this month, Mega Energy and Rare Candy XL are available as rewards for completing local raid battles, making it easier to evolve and strengthen your Pokémon. Also, starting on May 23, the shop’s 1 PokéCoin Event Box will no longer include Remote Raid Passes and will instead feature a rotating array of items.

Trainers all over the world have helped Pokémon GO continue to thrive and grow over the past two years. Now, we’re excited to get back to playing together in person. To support players who have difficulty reaching Gyms, we will continue to work on solutions such as tools for community leaders to organize local events and faster approval for new Gyms.

We look forward to adventuring together in person!
