On May 14, 2022, select retailers will begin selling the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Astral Radiance Build & Battle Box, which will give fans a chance to check out this latest expansion and build a playable deck in the fast-paced Prerelease format before its wide release date.

This format allows players to compete with a 40-card deck, with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play. It's a great way to get in some quick games with family or friends and begin developing strategies ahead of the expansion's release. Each Build & Battle Box includes a 40-card ready-to-play deck featuring key cards from current and prior sets and one of four unique foil promo cards. Depending on which promo card you get, you could add the swift Hisuian Basculegion, the mighty Wyrdeer, the menacing Hisuian Samurott, or the electrifying Magnezone to your deck. The Pokémon Company has announced the Precious Collector Box Sword & Shield bundle which will be available to pre-order at the Pokémon Center Online in May 2022. The bundle allows players to show off their cards from the Pokémon Card Game Sword & Shield series and make their collection even more fun. The official South Korea Pokémon website has announced that to promote the theatrical release of the 11th Pocket Monsters movie - Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin (극장판 포켓몬스터DP 기라티나와 하늘의 꽃다발 쉐이미) on June 1st, 2022, three separate presents will be distributed. This is the first time that movie 11 will be seen in theaters in South Korea as it originally aired on TV on July 3rd, 2009.


A serial code will be distributed to players of the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl or Pokémon LEGENDS Arceus games that they can use to redeem a Regigigas in the game of their choice from June 1st, 2022 until July 31st, 2022.

​​​​​​​April 28, 2022 — Today, The Pokémon Company International revealed more details about the highly anticipated Pokémon Trading Card Game: Pokémon GO expansion, releasing around the world starting on July 1, 2022.

In this special collaboration inspired by the Pokémon GO app, fans will be able to play with cards featuring photorealistic artwork and unique gameplay scenarios inspired by the beloved mobile title. Certain cards illustrate Pokémon as if they have jumped out into the real world, such as Pikachu walking alongside its Trainer and Snorlax sleeping wherever it pleases, while other cards portray Pokémon in scenes that are familiar to the mobile game, such as Blissey valiantly defending a Gym and Aipom dodging a Poké Ball.

THE POKÉMON COMPANY INTERNATIONAL ENTERS INTO AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE MILLENNIUM PRINT GROUP

Bellevue, Wash. – April 18, 2022 – The Pokémon Company International, the company responsible for management of the globally popular Pokémon brand outside of Asia, has entered into agreement to purchase North Carolina-based Millennium Print Group, a manufacturer and printer of trading cards and associated packaging in the US. The two companies have been business partners since 2015 with Millennium Print Group serving as longtime printers of The Pokémon Company International’s best-selling product, the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

With this acquisition, The Pokémon Company International aims to further develop Millennium Print Group’s capabilities, infrastructure, and scale to become a premier printer of trading cards, serving the broader industry. Millennium Print Group will continue to operate as a separate, autonomous organization, but will gain both investment and industry- expertise from The Pokémon Company International.
