Lucius' Gouging Fire was mistakenly assumed in lore and legend, as well as by Lucius himself and the original Explorers, to be an Entei, as that was the only Pokémon people knew about at the time that looked like this. It was revealed to Liko by her grandmother Diana when she was discussing the lore of Lucius' fabled Six Heroes Pokémon.

The Rising Volt Tacklers encountered Lucius' Gouging Fire in Area Zero and realized that Entei and Gouging Fire look similar but because it's a Paradox Pokémon, it's conceivably from the ancient past and that assumptions all this time that it was an Entei were not completely unfounded.

It's Ability is Protosynthesis which it used in the battle in Area Zero against the Rising Volt Tacklers to boost its stats.
