Nintendo announced on October 25th, 2013 that a patch to fix Pokémon X and Y was available to download from the eShop. The 1.1 patch fixes the bug that corrupted saves when people saved their games in certain parts of Lumiose City (Miare City ミアレシティ). The patch also fixed a problem that could lead to errors when trying to use a filter on the GTS function to exchange Pokémon with players all over the world. The update requires 227 blocks.

How to Download the update

Scan one of the QR codes below with your Nintendo 3DS which is connected to the Internet. Please note that the updates are different for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

qrpatch

Download the update by selecting the "Pokémon X Ver 1.1 Update" or the "Pokémon Y Ver 1.1 Update". After the download completes, the update will automatically be preformed.

To confirm the patch was successful, start Pokémon X or Pokémon Y and look at the Ver. number on the bottom right corner of the lower screen. It should indicate that it is "Ver. 1.1".

Nintendo announced today that Pokémon X and Y sold over 4 million copies between October 12th, 2013 and October 13th, 2013. In September, Grand Theft Auto 5 sold 12 million copies on the first day of its release.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Sell More Than 4 Million Units Worldwide In First Two Days

First Pokémon RPG for Nintendo 3DS Launches Simultaneously Around the World

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 15, 2013 – On Saturday, Oct. 12, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for Nintendo 3DS became the first set of games in franchise history to launch simultaneously worldwide. Nintendo reported today that the games combined to sell more than 4 million units across Japan, Europe* and The Americas on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13.

"The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself," said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata.

Since this was the first global launch in franchise history, there isn't an exact historical precedent for comparison. However, when combining and comparing regional data for previous launches, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y would be the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time and are tracking ahead of the last Pokémon RPG titles, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, by more than 70 percent.

With more than 245 million** games sold worldwide, the Pokémon franchise continues to be one of the strongest brands in the history of video games. Since 2002, five sets of Pokémon titles have combined to exceed 10 million units sold to date worldwide, with three sets combining to surpass 15 million units.

*Data from Europe primarily covers Saturday, Oct. 12, as the great majority of retail outlets are closed on Sundays across Europe.

**Pokémon global sales are based on internal sales figures, and are current as of March 31, 2013.

The official Pokémon website has revealed that the Pokémon Global Link service will be offered to existing players bonuses when they log in to the new PGL with their current PGL account and register a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. Below are the full details

Press Release - Announcing Bonuses for Existing PGL Players Who Play on the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL

September 20, 2013 The Pokémon Company - Thank you for your continued support of the Pokémon Global Link (PGL)! As we announced on July 1, 2013, the Pokémon Global Link site for Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2 will begin to close down later this year. We are happy to reveal that bonuses will be offered to existing players when they log in to the new PGL with their current PGL account and register a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

Exchange Dream Points for Poké Miles Automatically

Current PGL players will receive Poké Miles in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL depending on how many Dream Points they have.

Poké Miles can be used in the PokéMileage Club (launching soon) to play in attractions or to receive items in the shop. These items can then be sent back to Pokémon X or Pokémon Y games via Game Sync.

Poké Miles can also be accumulated by playing Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. These Poké Miles are sent to the PGL via Game Sync, and can then be used in the PokéMileage Club. More details about acquiring Poké Miles will be announced when at the opening of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL.

pic

Your Dream Points are calculated by combining the Dream Points from all games registered to your current PGL account. To be specific, if you have Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, and Pokémon White Version 2 registered to your account, your Dream Points will be calculated by combining the total amount of Dream Points from each game.

The number of Poké Miles will be determined based on the combined total of Dream Points from all games registered to your current PGL account, and that number of Poké Miles will be given to copies of both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that are registered to your account.

For example, if you qualified to receive 10,000 Poké Miles, you would receive 10,000 Poké Miles when you register a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y and another 10,000 Poké Miles if you registered the other version to your account as well, for a total of 20,000 Poké Miles.

Special Medal Awards

Based your accomplishments in the current PGL, you may be awarded special Medals in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL. You may also receive Medals depending on what you accomplish in your game and in the new PGL. These Medals are not available in the game, and can be checked only in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL.

The commemorative Medals awarded to existing PGL players will be exclusive to them and cannot be obtained through other means.

pic

Global Battle Union (GBU) - Placed in the top 100 overall ranking in a GBU Season. The current season, Season 10, is excluded as it will not have a ranking.

Wi-Fi Competitions - Obtained a ranking in a Wi-Fi Competition (a different Medal depending on how many times)

All the numbers above are calculated by taking the combined total of the numbers from all games registered to your current PGL account. Details about the Medals you receive can be checked on the Medals page in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y PGL. Medals you receive as a result of your accomplishments in the current PGL will be given to both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y if you register both to your account.
