Diancie TV Special Announced
An official anime site detailing the content of the 2-hour Pokémon movie special to air July 17th has been put up. In addition to a TV airing of last year's movie, it will also have an all-new TV special starring Diancie. Translations follow:

Story
"Diancie, Princess of the Ore Country" is a story set before Diancie, the mythical Pokémon serving as the protagonist in this year's movie "Pokémon the Movie XY: The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie", met Satoshi.
Diancie, the Diamond Ore Country's princess, and her Melecie butlers set off on a journey searching for the legendary Pokémon Xerneas in order to save the Ore Country from disaster. What awaits them on this journey!?

McDonalds Happy Set Toys - July 2014
McDonalds Japan has revealed that they will be distributing Pokémon themed Happy Sets starting on July 11th, 2014. 8 toys will be available while supplies last. The sets are being released to promote the 17th Pocket Monsters movie The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie.

Atsuto Uchida to Play in the Pokémon Movie
The official movie website has updated with details on the movie. Translations follow:
Atsuto "Ucchy" Uchida of the national Japanese Soccer team will try his hand at voice acting for the first time in the Pokémon movie! His character's name is "Uschi"!
Atsuto Uchida of the national Japanese soccer team is going to be a guest voice actor!! This is the first time ever an athlete gets a role in a Pokémon movie.
From his early childhood, Uchida constantly played soccer when he was outside, but when he played indoors, he almost exclusively played Pokémon games. Now, he gets to try voice acting in this franchise he's know since he was a child as his first ever attempt at dubbing. The character he plays is one of Satoshi and Pikachu's co-stars, a hotel porter who looks exactly like Uchida! The character is named "Uschi", after the nickname Uchida has been given in Germany, where he currently plays. Look forward to the scene in which he appears!

I rarely get all that emotional when I speak since I'm not very good at expressing my feelings with words, so emoting (when voice acting) was hard for me. I've played the Pokémon games with my friends since I was in grade school, so I was extremely happy when I was asked to voice act in the movie, though. Even children who don't know who the soccer player Atsuto Uchida is will now get to remember me as "Uschi". Please look forward to the scene I appear in!

This time, Director Yuyama chose Canada as the country he would go scouting in. He went there in search of the landscapes where Yveltal would sleep, where Xerneas would hide, and Diancie would journey.

Wednesday June 11th, an open post-dubbing press conference for this year's Pokémon movie, "Pokémon the Movie XY: The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie/Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These?" was held! The extravagant guest voice actors giving this year's movie its identity were all assembled! |

First up is Mayu Watanabe, who showcases her narration of the movie short! Her narration is done with a gentle voice, as if she's talking to children. "If you use Cleffy's keys, you can go to different worlds. Apparently this is... Cleffy's world!" |

Next up is Koichi Yamadera and Rika Adachi! They are the two thieves going after Diancie, Marilyn and Riot, so they give a performance together! "Riot, don't get in my way!" "I say the same to you!" |

Next is Shoko Nakagawa, who plays Miriss, and Reiji from Nakagawa-ke, who plays Algus! In the movie, they play father and daughter. The two Nakagawas give a performance together! "Well done, Miriss! You want some chocolate?" "Dad, don't you think you eat too much of that?" |

Tsuyoshi from Nakagawa-ke plays the role of Nite, a Melecie serving as Diancie's butler! He ad-libs throughout the entire movie! "Meleeeee!" It's quite a convincing cry, so why are everyone laughing...? |

Finally, there's Yoshiko Mita, who plays Xerneas! She gives the Life Pokémon a majestic voice that still has a feeling of kindness to it! "I know what you have been seeking." |

Even these short lines in this presentation feel like phrases that really get across how fun the movie is! There's only one month left until the movie premieres! Rather than Marilyn and Riot, this stage is centered around Algus and Miriss! Why do Algus and Miriss take an interest in the "Diamond Ore Country"? What are they planning?
*The special stage can be downloaded no matter how far into the game you are, but it can not be played until you've beaten the regular Stage 6.
When you beat the special stage, you will receive a Master Ball in "Pocket Monsters X/Y"
When you beat the special stage, you will receive a serial code for a Master Ball present!
Jot down the serial code, switch over to Pocket Monsters X/Y, and enter the serial code there to receive a Master Ball!

The popular "Pikachu Car" and "Mijumaru Car" from Toyopet gain a new comrade! It's the "Fokko Car", based on Fokko, a Pokémon well known from the Pocket Monsters XY anime!

The New Pokémon Car, the "Fokko Car", Debuts at Toy Show
The popular "Pikachu Car" and "Mijumaru Car" from Toyopet gain a new comrade! It's the "Fokko Car", based on Fokko, a Pokémon well known from the Pocket Monsters XY anime!

On Thursday June 12th, 2014 episode of Oha Suta, host and Pokémon alumni Kōichi Yamadera (山寺宏一) presented clips and footage from the 17th Pocket Monsters movie that featured Diancie. Footage from the Movie 17th Press Reading which took place on Wednesday June 11th, 2014 was also shown. All of the guest voice actors for the movie were in attendance for the press reading. Images from the episode are on the Imageboard thread.
Yoshiko Mita plays Xerneas, her first ever anime role. She describes Xerneas as the originator of life itself. "It has this air, this aura around it." Yamadera joked that Mita has such an aura around her as well.
Mayu Watanabe will be narrating the short. She was nervous at first, but she's been wanting to be in a Pokémon movie for so long and calmed down because she was having so fun dubbing.
Marilyn is played by Rika Adachi. She had a lot of fun working together with Yamadera in the scenes that were shown on Oha Suta.
The comedy duo Nakagawa-ke consists of Tsuyoshi Nakagawa who plays Nite and Reiji Nakagawa who plays Algus. Yamadera jokes that they got cast because they have the same last name as Shoko-tan. Nite doesn't speak any actual Japanese lines, just Poké-language.

Part 14 of Director Yuyama's Scouting Report / World Hobby Fair '14 Summer / Movie Pre-Screening
The official movie website has updated with the fourteenth part of Director Yuyama's scouting report and details on new movie-related events. Translations follow:
This time, Director Yuyama chose Canada as the country he would go scouting in. He went there in search of the landscapes where Yveltal would sleep, where Xerneas would hide, and Diancie would journey.
After checking out of our hotel the fifth day, we went by foot to the port in Tobermory. We were starting today's scouting with a trip around the Bruce Peninsula and the surrounding areas.
We set out on Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes, by motorboat, commenting on how beautiful the crystal clear the water was. On our way, we got to look down at a ship that had sunk at the end of the 19th century. Eventually we arrived at our destination, Flowerpot Island, which is located in Georgian Bay at the northeastern part of the lake. The island is named after two thin rock formations, one big and one small, shaped by nature to what resembles tulips.
Director Yuyama didn't come to the island for these formations, however, but for its expansive forest. This forest was perfect to base the "Alearth Woods" in the movie on. We got an exceptionally large amount of material for the movie this day.
