Summary:
The Journey Starts Today is the first opening theme for the English dub of Pocket Monsters 2019, titled as "Pokémon Journeys: the Series". It is written by the indie pop group "Walk Off the Earth", and is the first English Pokémon opening to use one for its opening theme.The opening sequence uses clips from the Japanese opening 123 as well as a clip from PM19 1 and PM19 2, while the ending sequence uses an instrumental version of The Journey Starts Today with clips from Pokémon Shiratori
Goh, Ash and Pikachu are seen in a field and then it transitions to Pikachu and Scorbunny rubbing cheeks. Ash and Pikachu look into the sky while riding Lugia and then Goh is also seen looking. They fist bump and then jump off a wall and run down the hill by the laboratory as Chloe watches them. Team Rocket pose and Ash and Goh are riding on Lugia. The opening finishes with the two of them back in the field as Butterfree's fly in the air.
