OPED Details:

Summary:

The Pokémon Music Club's song Supereffective Type was chosen as the new ending theme for the Japanese Pocket Monsters anime, starting with the episode broadcast on June 18th, 2021. Following Pokémon Shiritori (Pikachu to Mew Ver.) and Pokémon Shiritori (Mew to Zamazenta Ver.), the Pokémon Music Club had sung the ending theme for three consecutive titles when counting this ending.

Supereffective Type, which is based on techno music, is a song to learn the type affinity of all 18 Pokémon types, such as Fire and Grass. Pikachu and Sarunori imitate the Pokémon types as they are displayed.

The Pokémon Music Club is a music unit with Junichi Masuda of Game Freak, as its producer, and the Pasocon Music Club as its lyricist, composer, and arranger, with the main singers being Pokémon Kids 2019, a group of seven kids selected from the general public who sang the theme song "Together with the Wind" from the movie "Mewtwo Strikes Back: EVOLUTION," in July 2019, along with Sachiko Kobayashi and Shoko Nakagawa.

Comments from MIKIKO!

When I first heard the song "Supereffective Type", I thought it was like a textbook for people who don't know anything about Pokémon to learn about it, so I thought of the choreography as if I were a Pokémon researcher. Since the theme of the song was "a Pokémon researcher in the future," I included some mannequin-like movements and strange robot-like movements.

The song has a good tempo and groove, so if you connect the meaning of the lyrics to the meaning of the dance, and learn the song while humming it, you will find it easier to dance. I hope you will enjoy the song and dance in front of the TV!
