Summary
Ash and co. still continue their way to Violet City. They have come across a big valley. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake and a few rocks fall down from the cliffs. Team Rocket is on the cliff. They also heard the shake. Suddenly, the part where Team Rocket is standing falls apart and they fall into some vines in the forest. Then a big rock comes tumbling down on them.

Ash and co. hears something behind a bush. Misty notices it as a Pokémon. Ash takes out his Pokédex and looks it up. The Pokémon is Donphan. Ash is about to capture it when Brock stops him. Brock wants to caputure the Donphan instead because it is a young Pokémon, and he will help it grow. Ash and Brock begins to argue about who gets to keep Donphan. Misty breaks up the fight and says that the Donphan is leaving. Not wanting the Donphan to get away, Brock sends out Onix. Donphan looks up and sees Onix. Onix uses a Tackle, but Donphan counters with Rollout which knocks Onix out. It's Ash's turn now. He sends out Heracross. Heracross uses Tackle, but the attack doesn't do much. Donphan uses another Rollout, but Heracross's Horn Attack sends Donphan against a tree. Heracross is about to strike again when a girl comes out and breaks up the battle. She accusses Ash of stealing her Donphan and threatens to turn him in to Officer Jenny. Brock is busy flirting on the girl. The girl introduces herself as Rochelle. Brock notices the necklace on Rochelle. Rochelle tells him that it is amberite. Misty walks up to Brock and asks him what amberite is. Brock tells her that amberite is a gem stone that is rare. Rochelle tells the group not to capture any more Donphan. Ash wants to battle Rochelle, but Rochelle doesn't want to battle him. Then she walks away. Ash returns Heracross back to its Pokéball. Brock talks to himself about Rochelle.

Team Rocket is wearing hiking clothes. They want to find the amberite. Meowth tells them that the reason they are wearing the hiking clothes is so that they do not get caught. Jessie imagines herself as a rich queen. Meowth tells Jessie and James that he over heard two people talking about how to get amberite. You need to get a Donphan to sniff it out.

Rochelle as her Donphan sniff at her amberite. Suddenly, a few fireworks blast in the sky. Above is Team Rocket who is celebrating because they have found a Donphan. Jessie takes out a gun and pulls the trigger. A net shoots out and captures the Donphan. Then Team Rocket get in their balloon and they float away. Team Rocket is happy because of Meowth's brilliant plan. They tell the Donphan to search for the amberite, but it doesn't want to search. James thinks that if they cheer Donphan up with kindness, it will lead them straight to the amberite. Meanwhile, Rochelle calls out for Donphan. She finds Ash and co. in the forest. Brock goes up to her, but Misty pulls him away. Rochelle asks if he has seen anyone dressed in orange clothes because they took her Donphan. Ash and co. know that Team Rocket must've stolen Donphan.

Meanwhile, Donphan is still happily munching on its food. Jessie is getting a bit impatient with Donphan. Donphan decides to search for the amberite. Team Rocket follows it with shovels in their hands. Donphan stops at a place, and Team Rocket goes digging. Brock tried to use Zubat to track down Team Rocket, but it failed. They wonder what they should do next. Rochelle takes out a whistle and blows on it. The sound spreads out throughout the whole forest. A herd of Donphan approaches Rochelle. Misty asks if they all belong to Rochelle. Rochelle tells Misty that they do all belong to her, and they are trained to answer to the whistle. Brock wonders why the Donphan that is with Team Rocket didn't come. Rochelle tells him that she hasn't trained it yet.

Team Rocket is tired from their digging. They haven't found one piece of amberite yet. Suddenly, the herd of Donphan walks up to Team Rocket. Following behind is Ash and co. Ash is tired of Team Rocket ruining everything. Team Rocket recites their motto. Misty tells Team Rocket to just give back Donphan and leave. Team Rocket tells them that they won't give back Donphan until they have some amberite. Jessie sends out Arbok and James sends out Victreebel which attacks him again. Brock sends out Onix. Onix binds Victreebel, but Victreebel gets away with a Sleep Powder. Ash sends out Heracross and Misty sends out Poliwag. Poliwag uses a series of Doubleslap and Bubble attacks on Victreebel. Victreebel falls over squishing James and Meowth. Then Heracross slams into Arbok with a Tackle. Heracross then sends Team Rocket back into their balloon with a Horn Attack. Lastly, Pikachu uses Thundershock to blast Team Rocket off.

Rochelle hugs her Donphan and thanks Ash and co. for their help. Ash and co. wonders why the Donphan couldn't track down any amberite. Rochelle tells them that she just started to teach it how to search for the amberite. She then offers a demonstration on how the Donphan search for amberite. Misty thinks that it is a great idea. Rochelle uses the Donphan that she has had the longest. She shows Donphan her piece of amberite and it sniffs it. Then it searches around and rams a cliff. Misty knows that the rockslide that they were in earlier must have come from a Donphan looking for amberite. A piece of amberite falls down and Rochelle picks it up. Brock wonders what she does with all the amberite. She tells them that artists come by and make sculptures from the amberite, so they count on her to supply it. Rochelle thanks Ash and co. for all of their help. Ash challenges Rochelle to a battle, and she agrees to battle him.

Ash sends out Heracross and Rochelle uses Donphan. Donphan uses Tackle, slamming itself into Heracross. Heracross endures the hit and tosses Donphan into the air. Donphan quickly recovers and uses Rollout. Heracross barely dodges the attack, but Donphan comes back again and hits Heracross right against a tree. Heracross begins to eat the sap from it, but then it focuses again. Then both Pokémon tackle each other and go on head-to-head. Heracross tosses Donphan into the air again, but Donphan counters back with Rollout and knocks Heracross out. Rochelle tells Ash that he put up a good fight. Ash tells Heracross that it will unbeatable and very strong.

Ash and co. says goodbye to Rochelle as they continue their way to Violet City.
