Script Error

Both narrators adds some dramatic flair to the intro of the show but in different ways. The English dub refers the sinking of the St. Anne to the Titanic disaster. The Japanese narrator says his last line like he is drowning.

Narrator: Holy titanic.
Japanese Narrator: Oh, it's a disaster. (さあ、大変だ!)

Narrator: Could this be how it ends?
Japanese Narrator: It sinks and sinks. (沈むたら、沈む…)

Script Error

While under a flaming stove, James daydream of a tropical beach has him changing the Team Rocket motto slightly to say he has a tan. Kojiro just states his name as he normally does in the Japanese version.

James: James with a perfect tan.
Kojiro:Kojiro. (コジロウ。)
08:05

Script Error

Kasumi threatens Rocket Gang in the Japanese version but in the English version she makes them see the reason for recalling their Pokémon.

English Dub
Misty: Call your Pokémon back, too!
Misty: What's more important, a Pokémon battle or your life?
Jessie: She's right. Good point.

Japanese
Kasumi: You guys do it as well!
Kasumi: If you don't you're going back into the water.
Musashi: I got it!
09:17

Paint Edit

The internal decks layout of the St. Anne originally had Japanese text to describe where they arrows were pointing, Bilge (船底) for the top arrow and Deck (甲板) for the bottom arrow. The English dub removed the Japanese text, made the arrows darker but did not add any text translation.
09:48

Script Error

In the Japanese version, Kasumi states they are heading to the 'Screw Room'. The nautical term 'Screw Room' is the location from which the screw (propeller) is accessible.

Misty: This corridor leads straight to the engine room,
Kasumi: If we keep going straight, we'll reach the screw room.

Script Error

During the zombie scene, Team Rocket had different responses to being buried at sea. In the English dub, they were more concerned about being called zombies than being thrown overboard. Meowth was also more concerned about getting his fur wet.

English Dub
All: Aah! Zombies!
James: Who are you calling zombies?
Jessie: We are not zombies.
Meowth: Somebody help! My fur's gettin' wet.

Japanese
Everyone: Zombies!
Kojiro: What are you trying to do?
Musashi: We're not dead, yet!
Nyarth: Water's a threat to cats!
18:01

Script Error

In the Japanese version, Kasumi heard a rumor that Maigikarp would evolve into Gyarados but wasn't confident in her knowledge until she actually saw the evolution. The English dub makes Misty more confident with her response.

Misty: Now you've done it! Magikarp has evolved into Gyarados!
Kasumi: I heard that Koiking evolves into Gyarados.
(カスミ): コイキングはギャラドスに進化するって切いたことがある

Zombies! The Titanic reference was a little morbid but I guess its kind of fitting considering the situation. The zombie scene was quite funny with the animation. Added the edits for this episode to the Epguide.
