Summary
Ash and co. are continuing their way through the Battle Frontier. Right now, they are walking through a forest. Ash steps on a pile of grass, and a rope springs up capturing Ash and co. in a tree. Max thinks that the trap was from Team Rocket, but Brock isn't too sure of that. A Loudred comes walking up towards them. A man then comes and apologizes and says that the trap is for someone else.

The man invites them in his house. He gives Ash and co. his buisness card and claims that he is an executive. Brock reads off the buisness card. The man's name is Mitch and he introduces himself and Loudred. May looks up Loudred in her Pokédex. Mitch again apologizes to Ash and co. He offers for them to try his new Pokeblock in return. May agrees to Mitch's offer. All the Pokémon try some of the Pokeblock. The Pokeblock disappears instantly in the Pokémon's stomachs. It seems that they all enjoyed it. Brock thanks Mitch for the food. Ash wants to know who the trap was really for. Suddenly, the Pokémon stop eating, and they stare at the bushes. Loudred senses something in the bushes. Something begins to rustle in the bush. Everyone stares at the bush wondering what will happen. A Jigglypuff pops out of the bush. Mitch tells his friends to beware of Jigglypuff. Loudred hits Jigglypuff with a Mega Punch. Jigglypuff bounces from a tree and lands on the ground. Mitch commands Loudred to use Hyper Voice, but Loudred does not attack. Mitch wonders what the problem is with Loudred. It looks like Loudred is in love with Jigglypuff because of Jigglypuff's Cute Charm attack. May wonders what Cute Charm is. Brock explains to her that Cute Charm is one of Jigglypuff's special attacks used to mesmorize its opponents. Jigglypuff shoots out fire from its mouth, and then it sings. Everyone but Jigglypuff and Loudred fall asleep. Jigglypuff finishes its song and runs away. Loudred is back to normal again. It wakes up Mitch. Mitch is disappointed that Jigglypuff escaped again.

Team Rocket is in their balloon. They know about the Jigglypuff. Jessie wants to capture it. Meowth thinks that Jigglypuff is the perfect gift to give to the boss. It says that Jigglypuff can help the boss with his sleep issues. Jessie questions the "sleep issues" part. Jigglypuff can also help the boss with his excersise. Meowth has one of his fantasy scenes again. Team Rocket is happy at their future promotions.

Meanwhile, the Pokémon are all keeping a look out for Jigglypuff. Brock tells Mitch that with everyone keeping a look out, there's no way they can miss Jigglypuff. Mitch thanks him and offers everyone to hot chocolate. May notices a picture of Mitch on the wall. Mitch takes down the picture and says that it's him, his wife, and his daughter. Mitch explains that his daughter's name is Lisa. Unfortunately, it has been six months since he last saw her. Ash and Brock wants to know why Mitch hasn't gone home yet. Mitch tells them a story about how Lisa wants a Jigglypuff for her birthday.

Mitch took a few days off from work and went into the woods where Jigglypuff are known to live. Suddenly, Mitch finds a Jigglypuff and throws a Pokéball at it. Being an amateur trainer, Mitch didn't know what he was doing. When Mitch failed, Jigglypuff would always put Mitch to sleep. When Lisa's birthday came closer, Mitch studied Pokémon training. He even captured a Loudred. Mitch thought that catching Jigglypuff would be easier, but so far it didn't work.

Mitch's story ends. Unfortunately for him, Lisa's birthday is tomorrow. Mitch even wrote a letter to Lisa saying that he won't be home for her birthday. May tells Mitch that he has to attend Lisa's birthday, but Mitch says that he can't because he hasn't caught the Jigglypuff. Mitch states about how other people would just give up, but he is not like other people. Ash offers to stay and help Mitch capture the Jigglypuff. Everyone else agrees.

Team Rocket has been listening in on their conversation. They are eating donuts while listening in. Meowth says that they have to find Jigglypuff first. He reaches out for another donut, but he touches something else instead. It's Jigglypuff. Team Rocket is ready to capture it. Jigglypuff attacks Team Rocket with Flamethrower before they can capture it. Team Rocket is angry now. Jessie doesn't want Jigglypuff to get away. They begin to run towards Jigglypuff, but Jigglypuff begins to sing making Team Rocket drowsy. Loudred and Mudkip hear Jigglypuff singing. They tell Mitch about this. Ash tells the Pokémon to take them right to Jigglypuff.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket sways back and forth until they fully fall asleep. While Team Rocket are asleep, Jigglypuff eats one of the donuts. Then Ash and co. run up to Jigglypuff. Mitch wants to battle Jigglypuff again. Ash wants to help too. Max reminds Ash about Jigglypuff's Cute Charm ability. Brock tells Mitch to have Loudred use Uproar so that Sing doesn't put it to sleep.

Loudred uses its Uproar attack. Pikachu uses a Thunderbolt, but Jigglypuff dodges the attack by flying into the air. Jigglypuff then hits Pikachu with a Rollout attack. Jigglypuff hits Pikachu again. Ash reaches out to catch Pikachu. Then it uses Rollout on Team Rocket. Jessie and James wake up from their nap, and they say their motto. Mitch interrupts their motto and thinks that Team Rocket are Ash's friends. Meowth and Wobbuffet got stuck in Loudred's ears. The two Pokémon are sent back into Jessie and James, and they all blast off again. Ash tells Jigglypuff that he is going to capture it, but Max reminds Ash that Mitch wants to capture Jigglypuff for his daughter. Jigglypuff tells Ash that he doesn't have a chance. Then it runs off. Before Ash can chase after Jigglypuff, Brock tells him that outsmarting Jigglypuff might be a better idea.

Ash and co. leaves some food out to lure Jigglypuff to them. Mitch doesn't think that Jigglypuff will come, but Brock tells him that the food is one of his specialties. Jigglypuff walks up to the food but turns it down. Brock is shocked that Jigglypuff didn't eat it. May takes out her Pink Surprise, but Munchlax eats it in a flash. That was May's last Pokeblock. Max suggests that they put Jigglypuff to sleep so that it would be easier to catch. He thinks of a plan.

Ash and co. walks out of the house. Mitch isn't too sure that the plan will work, but he has confidence in himself. Mitch calls out for Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff comes out and challenges Loudred to a battle. Loudred starts out with a Hyper Voice. Jigglypuff tries to resist the attack and uses Rollout. At the last second, Loudred dodges the attack, and Jigglypuff rolls into the house. The door to the house is quickly shut.

Jigglypuff finds itself in a strange room. Pikachu walks up towards Jigglypuff, and the two Pokémon battle. Pikachu uses a series of Thunderbolt attacks while Jigglypuff uses Flamethrower. Ash and co. are watching the battle through a window. They see both Pokémon dodging each other's attacks. Jigglypuff hits Pikachu with a Headbutt, but Pikachu isn't out yet. Jigglypuff starts to sing. The plan is to make the singing bounce off the metal walls and back towards Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff falls asleep from its own attack. Ash and co. cheers as their plan has worked. Ash and co. walks inside the house. Ash wakes up Pikachu and tells it that their plan has worked. Mitch holds out a Pokéball as he is ready to capture Jigglypuff. He stares at the sleeping Pokémon. Then he tells everyone that he cannot capture Jigglypuff. Ash wonders about Lisa's birthday. Mitch tells him that her birthday is important but letting Jigglypuff be free in the forest is also important. Mitch has made up his mind to head home and leave Jigglypuff behind. Max is sad that they worked so hard in getting Jigglypuff to fall asleep. Brock tells Mitch that as long as he is happy, then they are happy. Mitch has decided to give Loudred to Lisa for her birthday.

At night, Jigglypuff wakes up from its nap. It sees a bowl of food out in the house. Ash and co. walk towards Mitch's house. Mitch's wife says hello to Mitch. Then Lisa, Mitch's daughter, comes out. She wonders where Jigglypuff is. Mitch apologizes to Lisa. He tells her that he tried to capture Jigglypuff but couldn't. Lisa finally understands the truth. She's just happy that Mitch came home for her birthday. Lisa decides to have a lot of fun with Loudred. Mitch is very happy for her daughter. Suddenly, everyone sees something in the sky. Ash and co. know what it is. It's Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff comes down with an unhappy face. Brock tells everyone that Jigglypuff missed the fact that Mitch left and stopped trying to catch it, that's why Jigglypuff traveled all the way at Mitch's home. Lisa is happy that she finally got her Jigglypuff. Mitch asks Jigglypuff if it would like to stay with his family. Jigglypuff agrees. May is happy that Lisa has two Pokémon to play with. Lisa tells Jigglypuff to sing and it gladly does.
