Summary
Ash and co. have been stranded on an island for a week because of the rough waters. Misty hopes the waves get better before they run out of food. Tracey says Pokémon food won't be a problem. According to his guide book, lots of plants grow on the island. He sees some flowers that look exactly the same as the picture in the book. Tracey pulls on the flowers, but a kid comes out instead. The kid's name is Gulzar, and he didn't like it when Tracey picked on him. Tracey apologizes for the trouble. Gulzar challenges them to a battle. Ash says that they will move someplace else. Gulzar challenges Ash to a battle, and Ash gladly accepts his challenge.

Gulzar sends out Gloom. Ash scans it in his Pokédex. Ash chooses Charizard, but Squirtle comes out instead. Ash doesn't mind. Squirtle uses Water Gun on Gloom, but Gloom seems to be enjoying the water. Ash returns Squirtle back. He takes out another Pokéball. The Pokéball slips out of Ash's hands. It cracks on a rock, and Snorlax comes out. Ash wants to return Snorlax back, but he can't because the Pokéball is broken. Misty says that Ash will just have to battle with Snorlax. Unfortunately for Ash, Snorlax is sleeping. Gulzar is losing his patience. He tells Gloom to use Solarbeam. The attack fires at Snorlax. Snorlax doesn't receive much damage, but it wakes up. Snorlax crawls towards Gloom and tries to eat it. Gulzar returns Gloom. Snorlax walks up to Gulzar. It eats the flowers from Gulzar's head. Then Snorlax eats Gulzar's food. Gulzar cries while Snorlax goes back to sleep. Ash apologizes Gulzar of what happened. Ash needs to get his Pokéball fixed. Gulzar tells him that there's a Pokémon Center on the island, but they have to climb over the mountain. Then Gulzar runs away.

Ash and co. has to figure out a way to get Snorlax over the mountain. They tie Snorlax to a rope, and Ash and Tracey begin to pull. Misty sets up some logs for Snorlax to roll on. Ash wants to take a break. Misty reminds him that they still have a long way to go. Ash tells her that Pikachu needs to take a break badly. Tracey takes out an apple from his backpack. He decides to use the apple as bait so that they can get Snorlax over the mountain. Before they can start, Snorlax eats the apple from Tracey's hands. Misty has an idea. They can use fishing lure to get Snorlax's attention. Ash wants to help. Misty tells him that he has to dress up. Ash puts on an apple costume. Misty and Tracey laugh at him. Tracey pokes Snorlax with a stick. Snorlax wakes up and he sees the apple. Ash runs up the mountain with Snorlax chasing him. Tracey is amazed on how fast Snorlax can run. Ash trips over a rock and falls down. Snorlax picks him up and takes a bite. Not liking the apple, Snorlax falls back to sleep. They made it to the top of the mountain, but now they have to figure out a way to get Snorlax down the mountain. On the other side of the trees is a river. Misty suggests that they make a raft and float down it.

Everyone helps gather logs. Misty begins to tie the logs together. The raft is ready. Everyone fits perfectly on the raft, and they head down to the Pokémon Center. The speed of water gets faster. Misty notices that they are headed straight for a waterfall. It's too late to turn around. They all fall into the waterfall.

Their raft has broke, and Ash and co. are now shouting for help. Gulzar walks up to them. He tells them to stand up. He points to the Pokémon Center which isn't more than a few feet away. When Ash and co. arrives at the front of the Pokémon Center, they see a group of people surrounding the entrance. Gulzar explains to them that the island's food shipment is behind and so food is scarce. Nurse Joy stands up and says that their shipment has left and should be arriving soon. Everyone looks in the sky for the plane. Ash sees it, but he wonders how the food will be delivered since their aren't any airports. The food is dropped from the plane, and a parachute descends.

Team Rocket has a plan to capture the food. Meowth is in a machine. He fires a claw out. The claw attaches to the food, and it is brought to Team Rocket. Everyone finds Team Rocket, and Team Rocket says their motto. If Ash and co. doesn't get the food back, the island's Pokémon will have to go without food for another week. Jessie makes a deal with them. All Ash has to do is give up Pikachu, and the island can have their food back. The other people wants their food. Gulzar tells them that even though the Pokémon are hungry, sacrificing somebody else's Pokémon is wrong. Team Rocket makes another deal with the people. They battle Meowth and if they win, then they keep the food, but if Meowth wins, they have to sacrifice Pikachu. Ash agrees to the battle.

Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, but the attack doesn't do anything except tickle Meowth. James says that the machine absorbs electricity, and it is released on the ground. The machine's claws tries to kill Pikachu. Pikachu desperately tries to run away, but Meowth catches up to it. Pikachu runs back into Ash's arms. Ash doesn't think the battle is fair. Suddenly, the ground starts to shake. From the trees is the appearance of an angry Snorlax. Meowth attacks Snorlax. Snorlax dodges all of Meowth's attacks. Meowth gets his claws stuck in a rock. Meowth pulls the machine out of the claw. Meowth fires the machine's head at Snorlax. The head hits Snorlax, but damage does not occur. James reminds Meowth that he has one weapon left. Meowth presses a button, and he is injected into Snorlax's stomach. Snorlax releases Meowth back into Jessie and James. Snorlax charges up for a Hyper Beam. Tracey notices that attack right away. Snorlax fires the attack at Team Rocket. They blast off again. Ash is happy that Snorlax saved Pikachu. Snorlax runs right past Ash. He opens the box of food, and takes a few bites. Then Snorlax falls back to sleep.

Nurse Joy fixes Ash's broken Pokéball. Ash returns Snorlax back. Gulzar apologizes to Ash. He never knew how brave Ash was back there. Gulzar hopes that he can battle Ash again. The two of them shake hands. The rough waves are over, and Ash and co. set off to the next island.
