Biography
Nurse Joy is part of a large family of nurses, found in almost every town. Her sisters are named the same and look identical. They are responsible for healing sick and injured Pokemon, as well as the registration for various tournaments and contests. They use Chansey's as their assistants. They are also part of Brock's innumerable fantasies about girls, and he seems to be the only one able to tell the various nurses apart.

Viridian City

After engaging in a battle with a flock of wild Spearow, Pikachu was badly injured. Ash Ketchum rushed his injured Pokémon to the Viridian City Pokémon Center, where Nurse Joy reprimanded him for the way he treated Pikachu. Nurse Joy took Pikachu in for treatment and was able to heal his wounds. Later, Team Rocket attempted to steal all of the Pokémon in the Pokémon Center, and thus cut off the main source of electricity. Nurse Joy's Pikachu were able to use their electric power to act as a backup power generator and bring light back to the building. Nurse Joy and Nurse Joy's Pikachu were able to assist Ash Ketchum, Pikachu and Misty in thwarting the plans of Team Rocket.

Pokémon League Inspector

A Nurse_Joy is responsible for seeing if gym leader applicants are following proper procedures and are qualified to run a gym. She dressed in disguise and watched events transpire as Kaz and Yas fought against each other. She then revealed herself by showing her badge ball and told them that people who only see Pokémon as something to settle conflicts with can't run an official Pokémon League Gym. When then said they wanted to change and she told them to listen to what Ash Ketchum had to say as she thought he was more qualified to tell them what they needed to do. Ash Ketchum told them to fix the town, have a change of heart and start walking the path of a Pokémon Trainer.

Director of the Expedition Team

In the episode Shell Shock, a Nurse Joy was a Director of an Expedition Team. One of the main reasons Nurse Joy came to the island was to learn everything she could about the habitat of the extinct Pokémon Kabuto. She and her team also wanted to find out if there's any truth to the claims about Kabuto oil. explained that legend has it that the oil from Kabuto shells not only brings good health but it can make people live forever.

Wayaway Island Nurse Joy

In the episode Carrying On, Nurse Joy contacted Malachy's Grandfather to inform him that she was getting worried about the carrier Pidgey as the medicine she was awaiting still hasn't arrived. After Ash Ketchum and his friends along with Malachy retrieved the Pidgey from Team Rocket, they broght the medicine to Nurse Joy who was glad that she could now use it to heal all the sick and injured Pokémon back to health.
