Note

On May 27th, 2022, Shogakukan released a press release summarizing the upcoming Masters Eight Tournament and also posting comments from voice actors. The official Anipoke Twitter account also posted the voice actors comments.

The TV anime Pocket Monsters, which airs every Friday at 6:55 p.m. on TV Tokyo, has released a new PV featuring the Masters Eight! In addition, comments from the eight voice actors!

In the PV, strong trainers from past battles appear one after another with their partner Pokémon. Will Satoshi be able to win the title of the world's strongest Pokémon battle champion amidst the strong opponents? The matchups will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned! There are only 21 days left until the Masters Tournament begins. Don't miss this unprecedented dream tournament!

The original airing on TV Tokyo had a special Masters Eight Tournament preview video. It was also posted on Twitter and YouTube on May 27th, 2022, but the latter was region locked to Japan only.

Comments from Rica Matsumoto, the voice of Rank 8 Satoshi
The next stage of the Pokémon World Championships, the "Masters Eight," is a crucial moment for Satoshi. Every week, Satoshi remembers all the trainers who have battled him up to this point, and "I don't care if my voice gives out" while I act with everything I've got. Winning is not the only way to become a Pokémon Master. Where does your true strength come from? I hope you will be able to find that out through Satoshi.

Comments from Aoi Yūki, the voice of Rank 7 Iris
I am so excited to be able to fight as Iris against the league winners and the champions of each region! For those of you who have been watching the anime for a long time or have battled them as a player in the games, just imagining these eight getting together and battling is really exciting.

Every battle is very intense, and the more you love Pokémon, the more you will enjoy it. Iris' Pokémon partners have also grown up a lot, so please pay attention to the bond between her and the Pokémon. Enjoy the best dream matches you've ever seen, and don't miss a single episode!

Comments from Kensho Ono, the voice of Rank 6 Alan
I'm looking forward to the appearance after a long time... and now its the Masters Tournament!? Alan, has really grown up...! I can't stop feeling excited! What kind of battles will Alan and Lizardon give us! And who will their opponents be!?? You can't stop wondering!!! Everyone, look forward to the episodes!!!

Comments from Fumiko Orikasa, the voice of Rank 5 Carne
Carne can be summed up in one word: Graceful. The other Masters Eights, of course, are passionate about Pokémon, but Carne's battles are gracefully fun and makes you excited about her Pokémon.

Oh! I'm just as excited as all Pokémon fans who are who are watching the anime, huh? You don't want to miss these battles! Let's reach the climax together!

Comments from Susumu Chiba, the voice of Rank 4 Wataru
In this "Pokémon World Championships, Wataru is definitely eager for payback after losing to Dande. He enjoys battling and he is looking forward to battling with other Trainers.

Please look forward to seeing how he, the Kanto and Johto Champion, the invincible Dragon Master, and his Pokémon show their mighty power!

Comments from Kenichi Suzumura, the voice of Rank 3 Daigo
Depending on how you look at it, Daigo is a wide-ranged person and can be seen as sharp-tongued, a nice person, very cool and endeared by many. I have been playing the role of Daigo since the Pocket Monsters XY TV anime series, and I have found new things about him in this series.

Those of you who have long supported Pokémon will be watching the upcoming Masters Tournament with great anticipation, and I will enjoy being able to participate in the festivities as Daigo. You'll be seeing him in his "strongest and amazing" form, so don't miss it!

Comments from Tomo Sakura, the voice of Rank 2 Shirona
Finally, the "Pokémon World Championships" Masters Tournament has begun! I was surprised and moved by the fact that Shirona is second in the rankings but that just made me feel reenergized. Even though Shirona is actually very strong, she doesn't show it off, but she is a kind, strong woman with a big heart who can take on any opponent head-on.

I know that everyone in the audience has their own Trainers and Pokémon that they support but I hope that as many people as possible will be able to witness her exciting battles. Shirona will fight the battles to the best of her ability!

Comments from Daisuke Ono, the voice of Rank 1 Dande
The Masters Tournament is finally here! There is no doubt that all the matchups will be fierce competitions. The thrill, exhilaration and shaking with excitement won't stop!

Let's go, Lizardon! We're going to win! Come on, viewers, enjoy the climax!
