Carlos says that there is less than an hour to Pacifidlog Island. May is happy, and Max says that they'll be there today. May says that they will be there the night before to prepare for her win. Brock says that they will be there to get her 5th ribbon, Ash then says that she'll be in time to enter the Grand Festival. The narrator says a few words to her encouragement.

They can see the island, and Ash and co. are almost there. A motor failure is heard. Carlos says that they are having engine trouble. Than the boat they were on starts slowing down, so much that Max says that they are hardly moving. May asks if the boat will be alright, Carlos says he'll pull into the island write near them to check it. Max asks if the island has a name, and Carlos says it's called "Dontoe Island".

Carlos says that the fuel pump is shot. Ash asks if he is able to fix it, he says he can, but it will take some time. May asks how long it will take to fix it, Carlos says 4-5. Carlos says they will have to walk across the island and catch the ferry if they are to arrive at Pacifidlog tonight. Carlos apologizes for the boat. Ash and co. don't mind. Carlos wishes May luck in her Contest.

May starts to complain that the island is so long. Ash says it doesn't matter, because they can see what's on that island. Than the here a Donphan, it's using it's Rollout attack towards them. It stops before they can get hit by it. Ash pulls out his Pokédex. Dexter says a few words Donphan. Ash says he forgot that Phanpy evolves into Donphan. Ash also says that he misses it, and imagines it. Donphan than uses Rollout again. Ash & co. jumps out of the way. Max than points to a heard of Donphan using their Rollout attacks. Ash, May, and Max are asking themselves what they are doing. Brock knows what they are doing. Brock says that the Donphan are doing their Love Dance. Brock than says that he read that male Donphan at a certain time of the year show off their Rollout skill to the female Donphan. Than a Donphan starts using Rollout towards Ash and co. Donphan missed once, and than went after May. Ash then orders Pikachu to use a Thunderbolt attack. Ash pushes May down so she won’t get rolled over. Max corrects Ash by saying that Electric attacks won't effect Donphan due to it's a Ground type.

The gang leaves that area. May is saying that she thinks the port is not in the direction they are running. Once they stop, they see another Donphan. May says that Donphan is friendly, then a herd of Donphan are Rollouting in towards them. They then start running very fast, away from the Donphan.

Once the gang stopped running, they are trying to catch their breath. May says that Donphan are everywhere. Brock says that no one visits the island because of this. May starts to wimp about her contest. Ash then releases Corphish. Max says that using Water type Pokémon against the Donphan, they can protect themselves from the Donphan's Rollout attacks. Brock releases Mudkip to give Corphish assistance. Ash & co. continues their walk.

There is a big field of Rolling Donphan, and Team Rocket are on the top of a hill looking at them all. Meowth says that the Donphan will be useful for the Boss. He can use them as bowling balls. James then says there wouldn't be a bowling alley once it's used. Meowth than says he can use the Donphan as transportation. James asks where his belongings go, Meowth says in the trunk. Meowth says that Donphan can be used as a massage, but James says that the boss will be flattened. Meowth is about to say another thing useful about Donphan, but then Jessie blows her top off and says that should just catch them.

Team Rocket are about to catch the Donphan using nets. They all talk about their promotions if they actually will catch the Donphan. A Donphan just run by. Jessie wonders what that Donphan was running away from. Than three Donphan are using their Rollout atacks and they flatten Team Rocket. They are all hurt and injured. Meowth says that they should let Chimecho use its Heal Bell to revive them. Jessie asks Chimecho to heal them. Instead of healing, it's scares Jessie, and Meowth with it's Astonish attack. Jessie complains that Pokémon is untrained to James. Meowth says that James may have did it on purpose. Then they are all tumbling around on the ground.

Continuing their way through Dontoe Island, Ash & co. are protected against the Donphan. They then see many Donphan in pars and all in love. Brock is 'crying' and jealous at the Donphan. Ash & co. notice a Donphan headed right for them, Mudkip and Corphish use Bubblebeam and Water Gun to stop that Donphan. It flies off and hits a boulder, and gets injured by it. Ash says that that was too much. Brock takes out his first-aid kit.

After a Band-Aid is on the Donphan, Brock asks if it's okay, and feels alright. Donphan says and nods yes. Ash is apologizing to Donphan. May and Max are saying that it may have squash them down flat and also that they do get out of control when thinking about girls. Donphan then sees a brown Donphan, and has heart eyes. It uses it's Love Dance. Ash and co. bid farewell to that Donphan.

The show then goes to Team Rocket. Jessie is saying if any Donphan come close to them, the Pokémon will throw their bodies to protect her and James and probably Meowth. James then whispers to Chimecho that it doesn't include it. Jessie says ALL Pokémon must serve and protect. James 'agrees' with Jessie. Then Donphan are rolling in, Jessie says to Wobbuffet that he's first up. It's about to use counter but the Donphan pack just flatten Team Rocket. Jessie tells Chimecho to use its Heal Bell, but it just uses Astonish again.

May is in her expedition pose. She says a few words about Dontoe Island. Max is surprised that May isn't freaking out. May is panicing that she is pretending not to be scared. The gang then sees Band-Aid Donphan. It cheers it on. Then a heck load of other Donphan comes in using their Love Dance. Ash and co. are saying that there is a lot of competition. The Band-Aid Donpahan is using its Love Dance to the brown one. The brown Donphan is surprised. Max and May are cheering the Band-Aid Donphan on. Then Ash's Snorunt sends out itself. Ash explains to Snorunt that it shouldn't let itself out. Snorunt then uses an Ice Beam attack. The gang is surprised that Snorunt can use an Ice Beam. Ash wants to see Snorunt use an Ice Beam again. When it tries, it doesn't work. Snorunt tries again, and it worked. But many Donphan were slipping on the ice. When the brown Donphan sees two Donphan down on the ice, including the Band-Aid one, it decides to move on.

Ash tries to put Snorunt back in it's Pokéball but it is still running around. May complains that at this rate, they will never reach the port.

Team Rocket have dug a pothole, so if the Donphan come, they will just fall in. They call it their 'old reliable'. Ash's Snorunt is happily walking towards Team Rocket. Snorunt freezes Team Rocket with its Ice Beam. Brock asks Snorunt why it ran off. Ash is about to apologize when he notices that Snorunt froze Team Rocket. Packs of Donphan are rolling in, they hit Team Rocket, and they blast off. Ash puts Snorunt back in its Pokéball. Than a pack of Donphan are rolling in towards Ash & co. They are surrounded, as they are coming in, they all run separate directions.

Ash and May run off together and are catching their breath after stopping. They are wondering which way Brock and Max went. Brock and Max stopped running and they wonder where Ash and May are. May and Ash are looking for Max and Brock. They have no clue which way they are going. May continues her expedition pose. She says this reality show is a bit to real.

Max and Brock are still continuing looking for Ash & May. Brock says that they should just go straight to the port. Ash and May are near the port and it's the last call for the ferry to Pacifidlog Island. Ash says that May should go on ahead. He continues on and says that he can take care of Max. He also says that he and the others can catch the ferry tomorrow to root for her. Ash wants May to on alone so she can get to the contest and to the Grand Festival. May doesn't want to go on alone.

May says that some things are important than others. She then has a flash back of Caroline (May's mother) talking to May. Caroline was worried of Max traveling on his own. She says that she will allow him to travel but only if May is there by his side. May promises that she will take care of her. She also says that Ash is going to be there and he travels all the time so everything will be alright.

May says the she has to keep her promise, and she says that she can work on next year's Grand Festival, and collect the five ribbons again. Then they see the boat departing away to Pacifidlog Island. As the boat is leaving, May is starts and is crying. She rubs the tears off, and says to Ash and herself to find Max and Brock.

Brock and Max are calling May and Ash. Brock says that they are close to the port. They then see the Donphan with the Band-Aid. Brock asks him if he found his girlfriend yet. Donphan says and nods no. Brock says its too bad.

Ash and May are yelling Brock's and Max's name. Then Ash sees the brown Donphan. May says that they should give her some Pokémon food. Ash is getting some from his backpack. May then brings a plateful of Pokémon food to Donphan. Donphan is eating the Pokémon food. May says that they met another Donphan earlier.

The scene then goes to the other Donphan with the Band-Aid. Donphan looks like it's looking for the brown Donphan. Max says that they don't have time to help Donphan. Brock disagrees because they were meant for each other. Donphan smells the other Donphan's scent and speeds up towards her. Brock says to follow Donphan. Once that Donphan stopped it was next to the Brown Donphan. Once Brock and Max arrive, they are surprised to see Ash and May there. Once May sees Max, she runs up, goes on her knees hugs Max.

The Band-Aid Donphan is then using its Rollout love dance to try to impress the brown Donphan. The gang is cheering the Donphan on. The Donphan than hits, and breaks a tree. Then another Donphan stops the Band-Aid Donphan. Than a ton more Donphan are using their Rollout Love Dance. The Band-Aid Donphan gets back up and knocks a bunch of other Donphan down. The brown Donphan then uses it's Love Dance to the Band-Aid Donphan. They then use the Love Dance together. The gang is happy that the two Donphan are together.

The net from nowhere traps the two Donphan. Ash & co. wonder where that net came from. Team Rocket enters the scene then sings their motto. Brock orders Team Rocket to let the Donphan go. Ash looks like he's about to battle, but May pops in mad and saying that if it werent for them, they'd be already in Pacifidlog Island.

May releases all of her Pokémon. She tells Beautifly to use her Stringshot. Her Stringshot picked up the Donphan, and brings them closer to Ash & co. May then orders Bulbasaur to use Razor Leaf. Bulbasaur's Razor Leaf cuts Team Rocket's net. Team Rocket are shocked. Jessie says that the net was brand new. May then orders Skitty to use a Double Slap on Team Rocket. May then tells Combusken to use a Fire Spin. The two Donphan use a Rollout to blast off Team Rocket.

Once Ash and co. arrive at the port, they are told that the last boat to Pacifidlog Town left already. Ash says that May should have gone ahead when Ash suggested it earlier, but she wouldn't go on without Max. Max says that May gave up her chance to enter her Contest for himself. May answers that a whole lot wasn’t lost because they got to see the Donphan’s romance. Then they see Carlos. He asks if they need a ride to Pacifidlog. Carlos then gives the gang a ride to Pacifidlog Island. The narrator ends the episode in a few words about May's Contest.
