Summary
A large forest fire has started. Lots of the Pokémon that lives in the forest are scared and want to escape. A Celebi comes from the sky to help put out the fire. It begins to glow and flies down towards the danger. Celebi flies past the fire and the trees begin to get swallowed with thick vines. The fire gets smaller and smaller, when soon it completely dies out. The vines disappear and the forest is back to normal. Celebi manages to catch its breath and it stops glowing. However, one there's a small flame on one tree. The tree begins to tip over towards Celebi. Celebi sees this and it disappears with a flash of light before the tree can squish it. The other Pokémon stare at the tree hoping that Celebi survives. Rain falls down and Celebi teleports to safety. Celebi's eyes are closed and vines begin to surround it.

Ash and co. walk towards the Battle Pike for Ash's next symbol. They come to Cycling Road. Officer Jenny is there guarding it. Brock automatically falls in love with her. Officer Jenny points to the path for walking since they don't have bikes. Pikachu senses something and it heads off in the forest. Ash and co. runs after it. Suddenly, a Pokémon Ranger and her Plusle pops out and blocks their path. Ash asks the Pokémon Ranger if she has seen Pikachu. The ranger picks up her phone and begins to talk into it. When she's done, Ash and co. introduce themselves to the ranger. Brock quickly takes the ranger's hand, but Max pulls him away. The ranger introduces herself as Hinata.

Pikachu continues to run in the forest as it's trying to look for something. It runs right past Team Rocket who's stuck in the vines. Team Rocket is struggling to get out of the vines. Wobbuffet pops out and it squishes Jessie against the vines. Ash and co. comes to the same forest too. Ash rushes in the forest to find Pikachu. Hinata tells them about Celebi. Then she gets out a small device and points it at three Linoone. She closes up the device and a small spinning top flies out of it. Her device then transforms into a remote control. The top surrounds the Linoone, and Hinata begins to control the top with her remote. The top closes in the Linoone. Hinata has successfully captured them. Then Hinata orders the Linoone to break the vines. The Linoone clears the path and Ash and co. continues find Pikachu.

Pikachu looks around, and it finds an injured Celebi lying on the ground. Pikachu decides to help Celebi, so it runs down and talks to it. Celebi slowly opens its eyes and stares at Pikachu. It smiles and falls back down again. Pikachu is worried and it starts to sniff around.

Hinata talks about Celebi some more. The Linoone clears the path with its claws. They approach Team Rocket. Team Rocket wants Ash and co. to help them out. Hinata orders Linoone to set Team Rocket free. Linoone gets up and it slashes the vines open. Team Rocket thanks them and they run off.

Pikachu has found some berries and it offers them to Celebi. Celebi takes a bite out of the berry. It smiles at Pikachu and likes the taste of the berry.

The Linoone runs away, and a Diglett and Dugtrio appear from the ground. Hinata fires her spinning top at the Diglett and Dugtrio. She gets out her remote. The top starts to spin around the Diglett and Dugtrio. The top closes in the Pokémon. The Pokémon digs up a deep hole, and Ash and co. jumps into it.

Meanwhile, Pikachu is making funny faces at Celebi. Pikachu puffs out its cheeks and it does all sorts of crazy stuff. Celebi and Pikachu laugh together. Suddenly, the Diglett and Dugtrio burst from the ground near Pikachu and Celebi. Hinata comes out too. Pikachu blocks her way towards Celebi. Then Ash comes out and Pikachu jumps into his arms. Max is amazed at Celebi. May looks up Celebi in her Pokédex. Celebi stares at them and accepts them as its friends.

Late at night, Ash and co. stay awake to watch Celebi. The next day, Ash and Pikachu wake up at the sound of Celebi. Celebi is happily flying around the area. Its wounds are all healed. With each passing moment, the vines begin to disappear. The forest sparkles while Celebi absorbs in the light. Suddenly, a mechanical claw reaches out and captures Celebi. Team Rocket pops out of their machine. They recite their motto once again. Once they are done, Team Rocket slowly drives away.

Hinata runs off to rescue Celebi. She jumps on a tree and swings off it. She uses a vine to swing from a tree to the next. Then Hinata jumps onto Team Rocket's machine. Everyone is impressed with Hinata's actions. Hinata jumps onto the mechanical arm. Meanwhile, Plusle thundershocks Team Rocket. Hinata pulls on a part of the arm and Celebi escapes. Hinata jumps down just before Team Rocket's machine explodes. Team Rocket gets thrown into the air, and they go blasting off once again.

Then Team Rocket falls on the ground. Team Rocket stands up and they send out their Pokémon. Jessie sends out Seviper and James sends out Cacnea which hugs him again. Brock sends out Marshtomp. Jessie, James, Ash, and Brock angrily stare at each others enemies. Seviper unleashes a Poison Tail attack, but Marshtomp dodges it. Cacnea fires a Pin Missile at Pikachu, but Pikachu dodges the attack too. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt and Marshtomp uses Mud Shot. The two attacks hit Seviper and Cacnea. Then Pikachu hits Cacnea with an Iron Tail. Cacnea flies backwards and hits James. Lastly, Pikachu fires a Volt Tackle at Team Rocket. The Volt Tackle hits them successfully, and Team Rocket goes blasting off again.

Team Rocket's machine has been caught on fire. Celebi flies over to the trouble. It glows again, and the vines close on the flames. The fire disappears as more vines engulf the flames. Then the vines disappear. Celebi sends out waves of light and the forest is back to normal. Celebi says goodbye to its new friends. Then it disappears in a flash of light. Everyone will miss Celebi. Celebi makes one final call at Ash and co.

Ash and co. ride their bikes on Cycling Road towards the Battle Pike.

English Official Summary

Celebi comes to the rescue of Pokémon under threat from a forest fire, but the effort leaves it exhausted and it creates a giant tangle of vines to protect itself. A day later, Ash and his friends reach the Cycling Road, which is temporarily closed. Pikachu suddenly runs into the forest, and Ash gives chase only to be stopped by Solana, a Pokémon Ranger. She lets them through in order to find Pikachu, but giant vines have sprouted everywhere—the real reason why the Cycling Road is closed. Solana recruits some Pokémon to clear a path through the vines, freeing a trapped Team Rocket along the way. The group then catches up with Pikachu, who ran off to help Celebi. Our heroes all watch over Celebi until it recovers and once it's back in good health, the vines disappear. Team Rocket returns and captures Celebi using their latest robot, so Solana and her Plusle spring to the rescue. Celebi is freed, and Team Rocket is sent packing by Pikachu and Marshtomp. But the wrecked robot nearly starts another fire, and Celebi quickly intervenes to save the forest once again. With its job done, it returns home, wherever—or whenever—that may be. And now that the vines are gone, our heroes can take the Cycling Road to Fuchsia City after all!

Eyecatch Pre-episode Message

In order to alert the viewers that the episode is about to start, a special eyecatch was used. The eyecatch is a countdown towards the beginning of the episode and contains scenes from previous AG openings, Advance Adventure and Pokémon Symphonic Medley. The split-screen scenes with Haruka and Takeshi were updated versions of the Advance Adventure ones that reflected the changes in the characters' Pokémon teams. More specifically, the scene that depicted Takeshi's Mizugorou and Takeshi's Hassboh was replaced with a scene from Takeshi's Numacraw's battle against Satoshi's Juptile that took place in AG149, while the scene that depicted Haruka's Achamo and Haruka's Agehunt was replaced with a scene from Haruka's Gonbe's battle against Shiromi's Rafflesia that took place in AG151. The countdown ends with Satoshi reciting his catchphrase, "Get Pokémon!" (ポケモンゲットだぜ!, Pokémon getto da ze! ).
