Summary
Ash is preparing for his battle at the Battle Tower. He is taking a long run with Pikachu. All of a sudden, Pikachu stops. It starts to look around. Ash doesn't see anything except for a big tree. A Beedrill comes out from under the tree and begins to chase Ash and Pikachu. A girl steps in and stop the Beedrill. She begins to talk to the Beedrill. Beedrill got angry at Ash and Pikachu for going too close to its nest. Its nest happens to be right under the big tree. The girl tells Ash to be more careful next time. Pikachu thanks the girl.

The girl is also able to talk to Pikachu. Ash asks her if she can really talk to Pokémon. The girl replies that she can sense a Pokémon's feelings. Ash then introduces himself to the girl. Before the girl can tell her name to Ash, a Gyarados pops out of the lake. Gyarados goes in a rampage. The girl asks Gyarados what is wrong. Gyarados begins to talk to the girl about its problem. Apparently there is a stick stuck in Gyarados. The girl pulls the stick out, and Gyarados feels much better. Then it departs back into the lake.

Team Rocket is watching them from behind some bushes. James is impressed at the talent the girl has. Jessie says they have to continue with their plan. Pikachu then has a conversation with the girl. The girl understands that Pikachu likes Ash a lot although he can be a bit rash at some times. Suddenly, a net is dropped on Pikachu and the girl. The net came from Team Rocket. Team Rocket says their motto. Jessie notices they captured the girl too. They decide to escape with both the girl and Pikachu.

Ash sends out Corphish. Corphish uses Bubblebeam to break the net. The girl and Pikachu fall into the lake. Ash and Corphish dive into the lake to save the girl and Pikachu. The girl hands back Pikachu to Ash. Team Rocket lands on the ground. Jessie sends out Seviper. Seviper uses Poison Tail right on Ash's back. The girl asks Ash if he's alright. Then Brock, May, and Max run down to the scene. James sends out Cacnea. The girl sends out Alakazam. Cacnea fires a Pin Missile at Alakazam. Alakazam uses Psychic to take control of the missiles and fire them back at Team Rocket. Then Alakazam takes control of Ash and the girl's body and brings them to dry land.

Team Rocket isn't finished yet. Seviper and Cacnea attack once more, but Alakazam uses Psybeam to block off their attacks and damage Seviper and Cacnea. Both of Team Rocket's Pokémon are confused, and they begin to hit each other. Finally, Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to blast Team Rocket off. Ash has caught a cold. The girl offers Ash and co. to stay at her place for awhile.

The girl makes a fire and puts Ash's clothes by it. Ash asks the girl if she is going to change out of her wet clothes. The girl says she is but in another room. Ash thinks that it is because of May, but the girl says it's because she is a girl. Ash and co. didn't realize at all that she was a girl until now. The girl introduces herself as Anabel. Ash and co. introduces themselves too. Anabel thought it was amazing on how Ash risked his life to save Pikachu. Then Max reminds Ash that they have to go somewhere. Ash tells Anabel that he is suppose to have a battle at the Battle Tower. They all say goodbye and leave.

Ash and co. approaches the Battle Tower. They wonder where Scott is at since he usually shows up during one of Ash's battles. Ash knows he will win. May wonders if the battle will be very easy or not. A man walks out. His name is Marin. He asks Ash if he is the challenger. Ash replies that he is, and Marin leads them inside. Then Marin introduces them to the Frontier Brain - Salon Maiden Anabel. Ash is surprised that Anabel is the Frontier Brain. Ash wonders why Anabel never told him that she was the Frontier Brain. Anabel tells Ash that she never got a chance to tell him.

Marin then exlains the rules of their battle. When he is done, the battle begins. Anabel sends out Alakazam, and Ash sends out Corphish. Corphish uses Crabhammer, but Alakazam uses Psychic to stop Corphish. Then it throws Corphish across the room. Corphish gets up and fires a Bubblebeam at Alakazam. Alakazam counters with Psybeam. Both attacks collide into each other causing an explosion. Smoke fills the room. Now Alakazam can't see where Corphish is at. Ash tells Corphish that as soon as the smoke clears they will attack. Suddenly, Anabel begins to talk to Alakazam through her mind. She tells Alakazam to use Focus Punch. Ash was unaware of the attack. Corphish gets knocked down by Alakazam. Brock, May, and Max wonder how Alakazam was able to see through the smoke. Brock assumes that Alakazam used its Psychic powers to sense Corphish. Anabel can sense a Pokémon's feelings, so that's how she is giving her Pokémon commands without actually saying them out loud.

Ash knows he is very close to his Pokémon. He orders Corphish to use Crabhammer. Again, Anabel tells Alakazam to use Focus Punch through their minds. Corphish is unaware of the attack, and it gets hit. Then Alakazam chases after Corphish and beats it with Psybeam. Corphish is knocked out. May is surprised that Corphish was beaten so fast. Brock wonders how Ash will win since Anabel can sense a Pokémon's feelings.

Ash sends out Tauros. Max says that Ash had Professor Oak send him Tauros the other day. Tauros charges towards Alakazam using Take Down. Alakazam uses Psychic to pick Tauros up and throw it the the ground. Then Alakazam charges towards Tauros with a Focus Punch. Tauros gets back on its feet and uses Take Down again. Alakazam dodges the attack and hits Tauros with the Focus Punch. Alakazam finishes the battle with Psybeam.

Ash's last Pokémon is Pikachu. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt which hits Alakazam. Anabel tells Alakazam to use Recover. Suddenly, Scott shows up and sits down next to Brock, May, and Max. He notices that Ash is losing. Then he explains that when Anabel gets really into a battle, her Pokémon know what she wants them to do, and they can do it without her giving them any commands. Pikachu uses Iron Tail, but Alakazam counters using Focus Punch. Then Pikachu attacks with Thunderbolt, and Alakazam attacks with Psybeam. The Psybeam hits Pikachu. Ash tells Pikachu to use Volt Tackle. Pikachu uses the attack, but it aims it at the wrong way because Pikachu is confused. Right before Pikachu can hit the wall, Ash jumps in and saves it. Anabel notices that Ash risked his life again to save his Pokémon.

The battle continues. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, and Alakazam uses Psybeam. Both Pokémon use maximum power. Pikachu ends up being stronger, and it knocks out Alakazam. Anabel sends out Metagross. Pikachu is looking tired, so it won't be an easy win for Ash. Pikachu starts off with Thunderbolt, but Metagross uses Psychic to stop the electricity and fire it back at Pikachu. Pikachu is knocked down, but it gets back on its feet. Pikachu then uses Quick Attack. Metagross protects itself by using Iron Defense. Then it hits Pikachu by using Meteor Mash. Pikachu is still able to battle. Ash orders a Volt Tackle, and Anabel orders a Hyper Beam. The Hyper Beam directly hits Pikachu, and Pikachu falls to the floor. Anabel is declared the winner of the battle.

English Official Summary

As Ash eagerly heads for the Battle Tower and his sixth challenge, he accidentally stirs up a horde of Beedrill who chase him down! Fortunately, he's saved by a stranger who calms down the Beedrill and an upset Gyarados nearby. Just then, Team Rocket makes another Pikachu snatch attempt, but they're stopped by Pikachu and the stranger's Alakazam. Ash's friends catch up to him and everyone is invited back to their new friend's house to dry off. Their new friend is named Anabel, but Ash doesn't stick around long—he has a Battle Tower to get to! Once he gets to the Battle Tower, he discovers that Anabel is in fact the Salon Maiden of the Battle Tower! Ash sends out Corphish against Anabel's Alakazam, but Anabel's uncanny ability to mentally communicate with Pokémon means Ash doesn't even known what commands she's going to give. It doesn't take long for Alazakam to knock out Corphish, so Ash brings out his Tauros, which he had sent over just for this battle. But brute strength won't win the day—Alakazam knocks it out too! Now it's up to Pikachu, but it's confused by Alakazam's Psybeam. To keep Pikachu from hurting itself, Ash throws himself in front of its Volt Tackle, which snaps Pikachu out of its confusion. Pikachu goes on to defeat Alakazam, but Anabel has another heavy hitter lined up: Metagross! Though Pikachu does its best, Metagross has powerful attacks and its Hyper Beam finally knocks Pikachu out. With his Battle Tower challenge ending in defeat, what is Ash going to do now?

Eyecatch Pre-episode Message

In order to alert the viewers that the episode is about to start, a special eyecatch was used. The eyecatch is a countdown towards the beginning of the episode and contains scenes from previous AG openings, Advance Adventure and Pokémon Symphonic Medley. The split-screen scenes with Haruka and Takeshi were updated versions of the Advance Adventure ones that reflected the changes in the characters' Pokémon teams. More specifically, the scene that depicted Takeshi's Mizugorou and Takeshi's Hassboh was replaced with a scene from Takeshi's Numacraw's battle against Satoshi's Juptile that took place in AG149, while the scene that depicted Haruka's Achamo and Haruka's Agehunt was replaced with a scene from Haruka's Gonbe's battle against Shiromi's Rafflesia that took place in AG151. The countdown ends with Satoshi reciting his catchphrase, "Get Pokémon!" (ポケモンゲットだぜ!, Pokémon getto da ze! ).
