Summary
Our heroes are now headed for Viridian City. The boat is about to leave them behind. A Wartortle pops out and Ash runs right into it. Brock says Wartortle are rare and Ash looks it up in his Pokédex. Pikachu can't understand what Wartortle is saying so Squirtle pops out. Squirtle understands Wartortle and puts on his Squirtle Squad sunglasses. Squirtle and Wartortle jump in the water and they swim away. Ash, Misty, and Brock grabs a boat and they follow them. An island approaches them. The island is shaped like a Squirtle shell. Team Rocket is following them in their Gyarados sub. When they arrive at the island, they see a bunch of Pokémon in their shells. Brock puts his ear to one of the shells and he tells them that the Pokémon are just sleeping. Sitting on a rock is a larger looking shell. It's a Blastoise. Ash goes up to the Blastoise and hugs it. Suddenly, Ash falls asleep. Squirtle goes up to the Blastoise as well and it also falls asleep.

Misty and Brock try to wake Ash up but it doesn't work. Misty tells Pikachu to use Thundershock. Pikachu Thundershocks Ash and all of the other Pokémon on the beach. Ash wakes up and he tells them that he heard a sound coming from the Blastoise before he fell asleep. All of the other Pokémon heard the same sound as well. Everyone agrees to help wake up Blastoise. Team Rocket is spying on them. They plan to steal all of the Pokémon.

Brock has a storyboard with him. He confirms of the story of Blastoise. Brock examines Blastoise for a minute. Suddenly, Blastoise wakes up. It gets out its cannons but something is stuck in one of them. Blastoise pushes hard and something that is pink pokes out. Squirtle starts to poke at it and one of its ears pops out. Misty and Brock knows what it is and they start to back off. Inside the cannon is Jigglypuff and it starts to sing. Everyone on the beach falls asleep (except for Team Rocket). Team Rocket comes and they say their motto. Jessie and James make Meowth do the work. Meowth sneaks up on the beach with a rope tied to it. Meowth hears Jigglypuff's song too and he falls asleep. Thinking that something is wrong, James pulls Meowth back in. They try to wake him up but Meowth is out cold. Jessie uses their Gyarados grabber to grab the Blastoise.

Ash wakes up and notices that Blastoise is gone. Ash tells this to Misty and all the Pokémon start to worry. Misty tries to calm the Squirtle and Wartortle down but that doesn't work. Ash's Squirtle gets up and shoots water at the Squirtle and Wartortle. Ash's Squirtle talks to the other Pokémon. Misty compliments Ash on how well trained Squirtle is. Pikachu sees a trail and so they now know that Blastoise has been kidnapped. All the Squirtle and Wartortle jump into the water to save Blastoise.

Deep underwater is Team Rocket celebrating their success. Then they argue on who should get the credit for capturing the Blastoise. They kick Meowth onto the wall. Water starts to leak in and they hear Jigglypuff's voice. Team Rocket gets drowsy and then they are fast asleep. The Squirtle and Wartortle come and they all push the Gyarados sub back to the surface. Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu help Team Rocket recover. They open their eyes and Jessie gets mad at them. James says that he's grateful and Jessie hits him. Team Rocket heads back to their sub. Meowth pushes a button and two arms pop out of the sub. The Squirtle and Wartortle use Water Gun on Team Rocket, but the water has no effect on them. Team Rocket begins to chase the Squirtle and Wartortle. Ash calls out for Blastoise to wake up. Squirtle and Pikachu use their attacks to try to wake Blastoise up. Jigglypuff falls out of Blastoise and lands inside the Gyarados sub.

Blastoise wakes up and is ready for battle. Blastoise uses its arms to stop Team Rocket. All the Squirtle and Wartortle stand next to Blastoise. They shoot water at Team Rocket. The water lifts them into the air. Jigglypuff sings for Team Rocket and they fall asleep. The sub crashes deep in the middle of the ocean. Then Ash's Squirtle dives out to rescue Jigglypuff. Squirtle gets Jigglypuff and Ash congratulates Squirtle. Jigglypuff wakes up and sings again. When Jigglypuff is done singing, it sees that everyone's asleep. This gets Jigglypuff mad and it draws on everyone's faces. When they awake from their nap, Ash and his friends take a boat back to where they came from before.

Team Rocket is in the middle of the ocean. All of them are sick of losing.
