Summary
Ash and co. have arrived at another island. Tracey looks at the map. He says that the island is filled with Pidgeot and Rhydon. These Pokémon are bigger than usual because of their is a lot to eat. Ash and co. explores the island. Pikachu is sniffing the ground. Up ahead is a basket of fruit. Ash runs to the basket, but Misty tells him to come back. She tells Ash that it is very suspicious for a fruit basket to be left in the middle of the road. Misty points to some fruit on the trees. They walk towards the tree and end up falling into a hole. An apple falls on Ash's head, but it ends up being a rock. Team Rocket comes out exclaiming that they have fallen for their trap. Jessie knew that Ash and co. would think the basket was suspicious, so they dug the hole near the apple tree. Ash blames Misty for this, but she just wants to get out of the hole. Team Rocket wants Pikachu. Jessie sends out Arbok, and James sends out Weezing. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, but Team Rocket uses a device to block the electricity. Arbok uses Poison Sting, weakening Pikachu. Weezing uses Poison Gas. After that, Meowth throws a restraint on Pikachu, locking the both of them together. Team Rocket runs away with Pikachu.

Ash and co. climbs out of the hole. Ash runs around the island in search of Pikachu. Pikachu tries to shock Team Rocket, but they pull out their device again. Team Rocket decides to take Pikachu to the boss. A Pidgeot comes swooping down. It grabs Pikachu and Meowth, and flies away. Meowth drops his device. Meowth thinks that they are going to Pidgeot's nest. Pikachu tries to shock the Pidgeot, but it ends up shocking Meowth instead. The second time it hits Pidgeot. The Pidgeot drops Pikachu and Meowth. They try to break each other's fall, but Meowth ends up getting hurt. Meowth and Pikachu tries to go in different directions, but the restraint prevents them from doing so. Pikachu wants Meowth to unlock it, but Jessie is the only one with the key. Pikachu shocks Meowth again. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is trying to figure out a plan. They decide to look for Meowth and Pikachu themselves.

Ash and co. comes up to Team Rocket. Jessie explains to them that a Pidgeot grabbed Pikachu and Meowth. Team Rocket goes back into their balloon, and they search for Meowth and Pikachu. Misty knows that they can't let Team Rocket win. Ash suggests that if they work together, then they can find Pikachu first. Tracey sends out Marill. He tells Marill to find Pidgeot. Marill leads the group to a cliff. Up on top is a Pidgeot's nest. Ash decides to climb to the top. Misty thinks that climbing is dangerous, but Ash doesn't give up. The scene shifts back to Pikachu and Meowth. The come to a path with two ways. They both go opposite ways. After making a big fuss, Meowth decides to go in Pikachu's direction otherwise Pikachu would shock him. A tree gets into their way, but Meowth comes to Pikachu's side. Meowth suddenly gets an idea. He decides to pretend to be nice to Pikachu and lead them to Ash and co., but Meowth would really lead Pikachu to the boss. Meowth starts to walk, but Pikachu knows that Meowth is up to something. Pikachu shocks Meowth, and says that it knows what Meowth is trying to do.

Ash has made it to the top of the cliff. He looks inside the nest, but there's nothing in it. Pidgeot comes flying down. it knocks Ash off the cliff, and Ash rolls back down. Misty and Tracey asks Ash if he's okay. Ash just stands up and walks away telling them that he is going to look for Pikachu. Misty tells Tracey that Pikachu was the first Pokémon he had, and Ash would look forever in order to find Pikahu.

Pikachu tells Meowth that it can smell Pokémon. Meowth tries to sniff the air, but he just remembers that he doesn't have a nose. A giant Rhydon comes out. Pikachu tells Meowth to run, but Meowth's legs are frozen. Before, Rhydon can grab the Pokémon, Pikachu starts running, dragging Meowth behind. Rhydon comes charging in towards them. Pikachu and Meowth go opposite direction again, but they end up crashing into each other. They run towards the eddge of a cliff. Pikachu stops, but Meowth crahes into it causing them to fall off the cliff. Rhydon comes stomping down the cliff, and it corners Pikachu and Meowth. Pikachu tells Meowth that they have to battle, and it uses Thundershock on Rhydon. Unfortunately, the attack didn't do much damage. Pikachu tells Meowth to get Rhydon's mouth open. They jump on Rhydon's head. Meowth tickles Rhydon, and Rhydon's mouth opens. Pikachu uses a Thundershock on Rhydon's horn, and the shock surges into its mouth. Rhydon is defeated.

Ash and co. still search for Pikachu. Marill hasn't had any luck in hearing Pikachu's voice. Togepi spots Pikachu and Meowth's footprints. They come to the edge of a cliff. Tracey concludes that a Rhydon must've been chasing them. Ash has already gone down the cliff. Meanwhile, Jessie and James continues their search for the missing Pokémon. They haven't found the Pokémon either. At night, Meowth is complaining how hungry his is right now. They spot an apple on a tree, and both of them charge for it. Pikachu gets the apple first, but then it sees the sad look on Meowth's face. Pikachu splits the apple into two and shares it with Meowth. Meowth thinks about the times that he has been shocked by Pikachu. Meowth asks Pikachu if it wants to join Team Rocket, but Pikachu is sleeping. Meowth goes to sleep too.

When they wake up, Pikachu and Meowth comes face to face with Pidgeot. They run away from Pidgeot, but they see Rhydon just ahead. Both Pokémon are charging for Pikachu and Meowth. Suddenly, Ash, Jessie, and James appear. Ash sends out Snorlax. He tells Snorlax not to let Rhydon get any closer. Jessie sends out Arbok which bites Pidgeot. Snorlax uses a Mega Punch on Rhydon. Rhydon and Pidgeot leave the area. Team Rocket's balloon lands, and Meowth runs up to them. He thanks his friends for saving him. Pikachu runs up to Ash, and they are happily together again. Then both parties pull on their Pokémon because of the restraint. Jessie says that as long as the key is safe, both Pokémon are sticking together. Ash sends out Bulbasaur. Jessie sends out Arbok, but Pikachu uses Thundershock on it. James sends out Victreebel. Bulbasaur uses Vine Whip on Team Rocket's Pokémon. Jessie drops the key, and Ash catches it. Pikachu and Meowth are free.

Team Rocket goes into their balloon. Misty sends out Staryu, but Psyduck appears instead. Misty tells Psyduck to use Confusion, but it just stands there. Team Rocket gets out their gun. It begins to charge up. Togepi begins to wave its arms, and the balloon explodes. Team Rocket blasts off again. They wonder is Psyduck did the attack. Misty wonders if Togepi did it. Ash is glad that Pikachu is back, and Pikachu jumps into Ash's arms. Meanwhile, Team Rocket sees an apple. They fight over it, but Jessie ends up eating the whole thing. Meowth wonders if his friends like him or not, and he begins to miss Pikachu.
