Note

As previously mentioned in the episode 38 release post, the show got taken off the air for four months due to the Porygon incident on December 16th, 1997. It finally returned exactly four months later, on April 16th, 1998, with a one hour special consisting of two episodes.

However, while the two episodes meant to be next in line got skipped over due to no longer being seen as seasonally appropriate, the show didn't start back up with what was initially intended to be the 41st episode either: Instead, the first episode in this double episode re-premiere was this entirely new episode, created during the hiatus, which was meant to work as a light introduction to the show and its setting for all the new viewers who would be watching the series for the first time that day. The next episode in line, "The Four Eievui Brothers", then aired as the second episode of this special.

The credits used in the subsequent Kids Station airings list the voice actors accurately but the rest of the staff credits are from episode 40 though the writer of the episode is correctly credited as the only part there.

Hulu does not have the credits for this episode or the next episode preview.
The Pokémon Best Collection DVD Kanto Volume (7) and Pocket Monsters BW Pokémon TV Anime Collection DVD ~A New Journey!~ releases also use the episode 40 staff credits though here with the writer also being incorrectly taken from episode 40.

On the January 1st, 2000 special broadcast, the animation directors were listed as Keishi Sakai, Izumi Shimura, and Masaaki Iwane, but when rebroadcast on the Weekly Pokémon Broadcasting Station on the August 3rd, 2003 episode, the information was changed to Keishi Sakai only.
