Summary
There is a large boat that has a theater. All the dancers are Pokémon. A clown is advertising a Pokémon show. Ash and co. walk by. Ash thinks the show could be fun. Misty thinks that they should check it out. The show starts and Hitmonchan and Machoke start to fight each other. The punch each other in the face. Machoke falls to the ground, and Abra counts to ten. When the count is over, Hitmonchan is declared the winner. Clefable runs out to Hitmonchan and hugs him. Ash and co. applaudes afterwards. Tracey likes their acting. Ash sees that Meowth isn't the only Pokémon that can talk. Misty looks at her lap for Togepi, but it's gone. She asks Ash if he's seen Togepi. Ash looks around, and he sees Togepi near the stage. Togepi wants to walk on stage, but Misty grabs it in time. They see three people talking for the Pokémon. A girl comes out, and she tells Ash and co. to keep their voices down. The show ends, and the Pokémon begin to dance. The man tells the girl that it is time for Raichu to go on stage. Raichu comes out, but it doesn't look too well.

The man and girl are cleaning the decks. The man tells Ash and co. that they are happy to give them a ride. The man's name is Roger, and the girl's name is Kay. Roger was wondering if Ash could give Kay some pointers since Ash and Pikachu have a strong relationship. Ash says that it will be easy. Meanwhile, Team Rocket spies on the boat. They know that the boat is packed with Pokémon. They dream on a theater of their own. Jessie imagines how happy the boss will be when they bring all of the Pokémon back to him.

Ash tells Kay to relax. He tells her that a Pokémon's personality is important. The actors and Misty and Tracey watches Ash's lecture. Tracey says that Ash knows a lot. Misty knows that Ash is just repeating what Brock used to say. Ash starts to lose his act when he doesn't know how to get along with an electric type Pokémon. Ash watches Kay perform with Raichu. Raichu isn't doing its part. She asks Raichu to start working with her, but a shock comes out from Raichu. Ash puts his hand on Raichu, and he receives a powerful shock. At night, Kay goes on the deck thinking about what happened earlier. Ash comes out and thinks that Raichu might be afraid of her. Kay doesn't think that's the problem. She remembers a time where she was shocked from Raichu. Kay tells Ash that she wants to be Raichu's trainer, but she is afraid to get shocked. Misty, Tracey, and Roger are listening at Ash and Kay. Misty and Tracey says that Ash said the right thing because it came from his heart.

Team Rocket fires a torpedo at the boat. The boat shakes as Ash and Kay run to the surface.

They see Raichu behind some crates. Another torpedo fires, and Kay grabs Raichu. She tells it that she is no longer afraid. Ash asks if they are okay. Kay wants to know the source of the explosion. Team Rocket, from above, says their motto. Meowth gets out a switch. When the switched is pull, the boat explodes. That doesn't scare Ash, but Roger tells Ash to do what Team Rocket says. Team Rocket has tied everyone up in ropes. They want the Pokémon. Meowth goes to the room containing the Pokémon, and he tells them that he is their new master. Meowth doesn't like the look of Raichu, and Raichu shocks him. Roger and his crew moves to the back of the stage. Hitmonchan sees Roger, and he punches James. Hitmonchan and the other Pokémon start to talk to Team Rocket. Meowth feels how hard it is to learn to talk. Hitmonchan strikes James again with a Fire Punch. James's face catches on fire. James sends out Victreebel, but it eats James again. Jessie tells Weezing to use Smokescreen. The smoke covers up the area. Ash and co. has gotten free. Ash tells Misty to make sure the actor's are okay. Ash and Tracey decides to take care of Team Rocket.

When the smoke clears, Ash and Tracey are standing on the stage next to Team Rocket. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, shocking Team Rocket. Tracey sends out Marill. Marill uses Water Gun which sends Team Rocket back to the wall. Kay sees that Raichu is alone. She runs up to it and hugs it. Raichu gives Kay a small shock, but Kay tells Raichu that she is not scared anymore. Raichu looks at Kay, and they hug each other. Team Rocket gets up. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt again. Raichu uses Mega Punch on Team Rocket, and they blast off again. Everyone claps for Kay and Raichu.

Ash and co. gets back to town the next day. Ash tells Professor Oak about the Pokémon Show Boat. Kay runs out to Ash and co. She tells them that there's trouble with Roger. Roger tells them that his throat has been damaged from Weezing's Smokescreen. They decide to cancel the show unless they can find someone else. Raichu wants Kay to take Roger's place. Roger agrees to that. Raichu and Pikachu set on stage. Kay talks for Raichu, while Ash is talking for Pikachu. The Pokémon start to dance together. Misty and Tracey throws confetti on the stage. Everyone is having a good time.
