On April 5th, 2021, the official Japanese Pocket Monsters anime Twitter account tweeted that Iris from the anime Pocket Monsters Best Wishes, would appear for the first time in 7 years in the show and that her voice actress Aoi Yūki would be reprising her role. The episode title was officially revealed in that tweet as "Dragon Battle! Satoshi VS Iris!!" and that the episode would air on May 7th, 2021. The tweet also had a comment from her talking about reprising the role.

I'm very honored to be in the Pocket Monsters anime as Iris for the first time in about 7 years!
For those of you who are seeing Iris for the first time, this episode is packed with the Iris' charm and her dragon-type Pokémon and I hope this will be a good opportunity for you to fall in love with Iris and her partner Pokémon.
If you've been looking forward to Iris' appearance, I hope you'll pay close attention to her because you can feel her growth!

Voice Actor, Artist, Creator - Aoi Yūki (悠木 碧)

Aoi Yuki was born on March 27th, 1992. She has been working since she was a child actress at the age of four, and made her debut as a voice actress in 2003 with "Kino's Journey", and in 2012 she won a Voice Actress Award at the 6th Seiyu Awards at the age of 19, the youngest ever. Her major roles include Madoka Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Hibiki Tachibana in Senki Zesshou Symphogear, Sayaka Natori and Natori Sayaka in Kimi no Na wa, Nodoka Hanadera and Cure Grace in Healin' Good PreCure. She also started her career as a solo artist in 2017. Her YUKI×AOI Chimera Project, which she started in 2019 and for which she is in charge of planning, drafting, and character design, is also a hot topic.

The third guest from the popular anime "Pokemon" is popular voice actress Aoi Yūki!

Aoi Yūki is a popular female voice actress who has appeared in a number of productions with her ever-changing voice and acting ability. In addition to her activities as an artist, including writing lyrics and composing music, she is also widely active as a creator and producer. Her talent has attracted many fans.

Iris, played by Ms. Yūki, is coming back to the Pokémon anime for the first time in seven years...! The much-anticipated episode is scheduled to broadcast next week on Friday, May 7th, 2021. This news is already a big topic of conversation among Pokémon anime fans, and we're curious to know how Ms. Yūki herself feels about it.

"As a viewer of the current series, when I first heard about it, I was like, "Oh, what? Iris? (laughs). However, when Iris was shown in the new opening (which was renewed for the episode that aired on January 8th, 2021), I received a lot of responses from people. Even though the anime Pocket Monsters Best Wishes has been over for a long time, I realized once again how much people have continued to love her. At the time, when I completed Best Wishes, there were many people who said they were sad to see me go... I was honestly very happy to be able to play Iris again."

Iris is a girl who appears in the anime Pocket Monsters Best Wishes, which aired from 2010 to 2013. Her trademark is her energetic and curious personality and her large twin-ponytails.

Over the past seven years, Iris has surely experienced a lot of things and has grown up since her reappearance. And then there's Ms. Yūki, who has had a similar experience with her career as a voice actor.

"When Best Wishes first aired, I remember being pushed around by Iris, who was much more energetic than me. I could barely keep up with her running speed, and I was out of breath the whole time. I'm sure I made up for it in many ways and expressed her powerful nature in a more lovable way. Iris is growing up much faster, she's more active, and she's interested in many things... At the time, it was hard for me to keep up with her rapid change of perspective."

Ms. Yūki was less than 20 years old when the program started. Looking back on her early days as a voice actress, she told us, "I've been doing this for a long time."

"This time, I've been reaquainted with Iris after a long time, and we've both grown up, and I finally got to see the world from the same perspective as her."

Pokémon battles are still fun! Watch out for Ms. Yūki's passionate performance!

Appearing on the Pokémon anime after a long absence was a reunion with Iris, and also a reunion with the person she's grown up to be. When we asked Ms. Yūki how it was at the "recording studio", she seemed a little disappointed, saying, "Actually, because of the coronavirus pandemic, we recorded separately, so I wasn't with the other cast members."

"Ah, but it's been a while since I experienced a Pokémon battle. It was a lot of fun! Pokémon battles are a great part of acting and you get the feeling that you're playing a sport! This was one of the charms of doing Pokémon work that I felt at the time, even though I wasn't the best at it. This time, Iris and I were finally able to see eye to eye, which made me even more excited, and I was having so much fun. 'Pokémon battles are so much fun! Huh, Satoshi!!' The sound director told me, "Ms. Yūki, you're getting a little too excited..." (laughs)"


▲ "Wide breaker!" And so on... In the course of the interview, Ms. Yūki unleashed a "full-blown attack". It certainly seemed like it would overwhelm Satoshi (laughs).

"He pointed out, 'I don't know what to say, you must have experienced many battles, but your power is a bit... well, you should keep it in the realm of sports,' and I was like, 'Oh, my bad.'"

Ms. Yūki recounted an instance from a previous epiosode dubbing session.

"At that time, I was often instructed about my lack of power, and I was told, 'If your mind is losing, it means this child is losing. So don't lose!', I was often told. At the time, I was trying my best not to let my favorite Pokémon lose. But there was a part of me that couldn't help but stretch myself. Looking back now, I'm sure Iris was the same way. The combination of her current perspective, how's she has grown up, and my perspective, and how I've grown up as a voice actor, even if only a little, gives me a good feeling. I thought to myself, 'Okay, I'll never lose!'"

Pokémon battles are one of the most exciting parts of the Pokémon anime. It is the most heated scene in the story with Pokémon trainers shouting the names of their Pokémon's moves and calling out "Go!" We didn't know the creators had such thoughts behind the scenes that we were always enjoying to watch...! All of us in the editorial department were impressed.

"As I said before, Pokémon battles feel like a sport when I voice act. It's important to be in sync with your Pokémon partner as well as with the opponent you are fighting. It's like a tennis rally."


▲ At the shooting site, Ms. Yūki checked the photos on the monitor and said, "It looks smart!" That's how she made the scene feel. In fact, when we interviewed her, we could feel her "intelligence" in every word she said.

"When I played the role this time, I was able to fondly remember the feeling I had back then, and more importantly, for the first time, I felt like I could enjoy myself to the fullest. At the time, I was surrounded by big, big, big senior actors, and I couldn't help but get nervous. I was also under a lot of pressure because I knew from my own experience how much of an impact Pokémon had on children. Of course, I haven't lost that sense of urgency, but more than that, I want children to have fun! That's the strongest feeling I have right now. This episode is packed with the charm of Dragon-type Pokémon, so I hope this will be a good opportunity for more people to fall in love with Iris and her Pokémon partners."

忙しい毎日を送る女性たちに、癒しを！ 頑張るワーキングウーマンたちにご褒美を！ 大人の女性誌による、大人の女性のための、声優インタビュー連載『女は耳から恋をする』＃耳恋。今回のゲストは、約7年ぶりの“アニポケ”出演が話題になっている、声優・悠木 碧さん！ 悠木さんの世界観がたっぷり詰まった、インタビュー＆撮りおろしポートレートは必見です！

国民的アニメ「ポケットモンスター」から、3人目のゲストは大人気声優・悠木 碧さん！

仕事に家事に育児にと、毎日頑張っている女性の皆さんの日々の疲れを癒してくれるのは、大好きな“推し”の存在！ そんなコンセプトから始まった、大人のための大人の声優連載＝「耳恋」。数々のアニメ作品に絡んで、たくさんの声優の皆さんをお迎えしているこの連載、さて今回は、アニメ「ポケットモンスター」から、山下大輝さん、花澤香菜さんにつづいて、悠木 碧さんをお招きしました！

悠木碧さんといえば、変幻自在な声と演技力を武器に、数々の作品に出演する、人気女性声優。作詞・作曲も含むアーティスト活動のほか、クリエイターやプロデューサーとしても幅広く活躍。そんな才能豊かな面が、多くのファンを惹きつけています。

そんな悠木さん演じる「アイリス」が、7年ぶりにアニメ「ポケットモンスター」に帰って来る…！ 注目の放送回は、来週5月7日（金）の予定です。すでにこのニュースはアニポケファンの間で大変な話題ですが、悠木さんご本人がどう感じているのかも気になるところ。

「現在放送中のシリーズを“一”視聴者として観ている身としては、初めて聞いたときは“あ、ええ？ アイリスぅ？”みたいな、ちょっと変な気持でした(笑)。ただ、新オープニングにアイリスの姿が映った段階(2021年１月8日放送回にてリニューアル)で、すごくたくさんの方から反応をいただいたんです。アニメ「ポケットモンスター ベストウイッシュ」が終わって長いのに、彼女はずっと愛され続けているんだなということを改めて実感しました。当時、「ベストウイッシュ」から卒業するときも、寂しいと言ってくださる声も多くて…。そんな『アイリス』をまた演じることができるのは、素直にとても嬉しかったです」

アイリスは、2010年～2013年まで放送された、アニメ「ポケットモンスター ベストウイッシュ」に登場する女の子。元気で好奇心旺盛な性格と、大きなツインテールがトレードマークで、ドラゴンタイプのポケモンを自在に操る「ドラゴンマスター」を目指しながら、サトシと一緒に旅を続けていました。

この7年の間に、きっといろいろなことを経験して、成長して再登場するアイリス。そして、同じように、声優としての経験とキャリアを積んできた、悠木さん。

「『ベストウイッシュ』放送当時、私よりずいぶんパワフルなアイリスにずっと振り回されていたような記憶があります。彼女の走る速度に着いていくのがやっとで、ずっと息が切れている、みたいな。今の自分ならば、きっと色んなことで補って、彼女のパワフルさをもっと愛らしく表現してあげられるような気がするんですけど。アイリスのほうが成長スピードもずっと速いし、アクティブだし、いろんなことに興味があって…。当時の私は、その視点のめまぐるしいような切り替えについていくのが大変でした」

放送開始当時は、20歳にも満たなかった悠木さん。声優としての活動を本格的に始めて間もなかった頃の自分を振り返って、そう言葉を紡いでくれました。

「今回、久々にアイリスと再会して、お互いに成長していて、ようやくこの子と同じ目線で、世界が見られた、そんな気持ちです！」

「ポケモンバトルって、やっぱり楽しい」！ 悠木さんの情熱ほとばしる演技にも注目！

久々の“アニポケ”出演は、アイリスとの再会でもあり、成長した自分との再会。そんな悠木さんに“収録現場”の様子を聞いてみると、「実は、コロナ禍ゆえ、別々に収録をしたので、ほかのキャストの皆さんとご一緒していないんです」と、仕方のないこととはいえ、少し残念そうな様子。

「あ、でも、久々に体験できたポケモンバトル。これはとっても楽しかったです！ ポケモンバトルって、お芝居をしている側も気持ちのいいパートでして、すごくちゃんと“スポーツ”している感覚が得られるんです！ これは拙いなりに、当時の私も感じていたポケモン作品の魅力のひとつでした。しかも、今回、アイリスとやっと目線が合うようになったから、さらに気持ちが乗って、もう楽しくって楽しくって。『やっぱポケモンバトルって楽しいよな～！なぁ、サトシ！！』っていう気持ちでノリノリでやってたら、音響監督さんから『悠木さん、ちょっと興が乗りすぎてます』とツッコミが入りまして…(笑)」

▲“ワイドブレイカアアアー！！”ってな具合で…と、インタビューの流れで“渾身のいちげき”を繰り出してくれた悠木さん。確かにこれはサトシを圧倒してしまいそうな勢い(笑)

「『なんていうんですかね、いろんなバトルを経験されてきたんでしょうね、迫力がちょっと…あの、スポーツの域に収めてくださいね』って指摘をいただいて、あ、失礼しました～みたいな(笑)」

と、アフレコ現場でのエピソードを再現してくれた悠木さん。

「というのも、当時の私は、パワー不足を指導されることが多くて、『自分の心が負けてるってことは、この子が負けるってことなんだ。だから負けるな！』って言われることが多かったんです。大好きなポケモンたちを負かせてなるものか…って、当時の私なりに一生懸命、頑張ってはいたんですけど。でもどうしても背伸びしていた部分がありました。今思えば、きっとあのときのアイリスも一緒だったんじゃないかな。そんな彼女が成長した今の視点と、私が少しでも声優として成長できた視点っていうのが、重なったことで得られる、気持ちよさがありまして。それで、『よおし、絶対負けない！』と思って演じてたら、ちょっと勢いが出すぎてしまいました(笑)」

アニメ「ポケットモンスター」の醍醐味である、ポケモンバトル。ポケモントレーナー同士が自分のポケモンに技名を叫んだり、「行け！」と号令をかけたり、ストーリーの中で最も白熱するシーンでもあります。いつも楽しく観ている裏側には、そんな作り手の想いがあったのか…！と、感動する編集部一同。

「先ほども言いましたが、ポケモンバトルって演じていると“スポーツ”みたいな感覚があるんです。パートナーのポケモンとはもちろんですけど、戦っている相手とも息を合わせることが大切。テニスのラリーみたいなものかもしれません」

▲撮影現場では、モニターで写真をチェックして「頭良さそうに見える～！」と現場を和ませてくれた悠木さん。実際インタビューしていると、言葉の端々から彼女の「聡明さ」が伝わってきます。

「今回演じてみて、その当時の感覚を懐かしく思い出せたし、そして、何より、初めて全力で楽しめた気がしました。当時は、大・大・大先輩方に囲まれて演じているから、どうしても緊張してしまって。そして、“ポケモン”という作品が、いかに子どもたちに大きな影響を与えるかを、自分自身がそうだった分だけ知っているので、プレッシャーも大きかったんです。もちろんその緊張感は無くしていませんが、それよりも、子どもたちに楽しんでほしい！っていう気持ちがいまはいちばん強い。今回のエピソードは、ドラゴンタイプのポケモンの魅力がぐっと詰まった一話になっているので、これを機に、アイリスと彼女のパートナーポケモンを好きになってくれる方が増えるといいなと願います」

そんなアイリス再登場回の「ドラゴンバトル！サトシVSアイリス！！」は、2021年5月7日（金）放送予定。修行の旅に出ていたアイリスが、どうやらイッシュ地方に戻ってきている様子。しかも、サトシの元にバトルの誘いが届いて…？

For those who don't know, Iris is a girl from the TV anime series that aired from 2010-13. She was working with Satoshi and his friends to become a Dragon Master, which means she can freely control Dragon-type Pokémon, but when they finished their journey in the Isshu region, each of them went to a different way.

So, this article is about the episode that aired today, "Dragon Battle! Satoshi VS Iris!", which features Iris' return.

Satoshi and Iris are reunited after seven years of absence. How was the Pokémon battle between the two, who had grown together, after a long time? If you haven't seen it yet, don't worry, you can watch it on the official Pokémon YouTube channel!

To commemorate Iris' return, in Vol. 01 of the interivew with voice actress Aoi Yūki, she talks about her thoughts on her return and her memories of the Best Wishes series. For those of you who haven't seen the episode yet, or those of you who have seen it and are reading this, please check out this article as well. Reading it will definitely make today's battle even more fun and emotional!

And now, in this special interview Vol. 02, we'll take a deeper look at Aoi Yūki's love for Pokémon, we'll take a deeper look into her love for Pokémon! A question to Aoi Yūki, a voice actress who loves Pokemon! "What's your favorite Pokémon?"

Aoi Yūki is also famous for being the voice of the popular (and cute) Pokémon, Eievui. We asked her this ultimate question, "What's your favorite Pokémon?"

"Eh!... It's different for each series (laughs). But in the Kanto region, Eievui is the best. I'm at a loss as to whether it's Rokon or Eievui, but there is also a bit of favorisim there. (Laughs)"

"I also like Blacky. Blacky is a Pokémon that evolved from Eievui into an Dark-type." You can tell that Ms. Yūki loves the Pokémon Eievui when she refers to its evolutions as "brothers" (and when she recommends all of them)! This question prompted me to say, "This is the kind of conversation that always gets people excited, isn't it? I often have Pokémon girl's parties with my friends who like Pokémon, and we keep talking about 'If you could only have one Pokémon as your partner, which one would it be? That's what we keep talking about.'"

And that's when Ms. Yūki's Pokémon talk ignited (and the entire editorial team, all of whom are also Pokémon fans).

"Whenever we talk about that, I always choose Rentorar. Maybe it's because I've been watching Pokémon since I was a kid, but I have a bit of a fetish for animals (laughs). (laughs) First of all, the design of Rentorar is really cool! The face is furry, but from the belly down, there's not much hair, and the gap is kind of sexy (laughs). Also, in one of the previous movies, there was an episode where the Pokémon sang in chorus, and all of a sudden, Rentorar started to have a percussion voice for the bass part. The moment I saw that, I was like, "Boom, boom". The moment I heard that, I was like, 'What! Rentorar, you can do that?' That's when my heart started to beat hard in my chest (laughs)."

This is from the movie short "Pikachu and the Pokémon Musicians", which was shown simultaneously with the 2015 movie "Pokémon the Movie XY: The Archdjinni of Rings: Hoopa". Ms. Yūki covered quite a bit of niche information that even surprised the Anipoke staff on site.


▲ Incidentally, Ms. Yūki's daily relaxation is rubbing her cat Ashbel's (male) belly.

"I don't think he (the cat?) really likes being fluffed up. But he senses my stress level and puts up with me for a few minutes. When I see him putting up with me, I think to myself, 'Ah, thank you for being so accommodating to me... I'll be nicer to people tomorrow', as I'm more rested."

Hats off to their love for Pokémon! The girls talk about Pokémon and their fantasies never stops. Ms. Yūki's Pokémon talk is still going strong.

"In terms of the current series, Inteleon is just too cool! I also played the Pokémon games 3 times (from Pokémon Sword to Pokémon Shield to Pokémon Sword), and Intereon was always in my party. By the way, the recently aired episode featuring Inteleon, "Messon in Possible!", was also very cool, wasn't it?! In front of the TV, yikes! Inteleon!　I'm such a fan! I was so excited! (Laughs)"

Inteleon is the final evolution of Messon, the water-type starter Pokémon in the games Pokémon: Sword and Shield. As it is classified as a Secret Agent Pokémon, as its slender stature, cool gaze, and calm, intelligent atmosphere make it a handsome... no, a handsome Pokémon.

"The final evolutions of the first three Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield are all too cool...! Besides Inteleon, there's Aceburn, Gorirander, and each one is so fascinating that I can't decide on just one! It's almost as if the world was divided into three warring states... Aceburn in the east, Inteleon in the west, and Gorirander in the south! (laughs)"

The editorial staff laughed out loud at the narration that suddenly started during the interview. Ms. Yūki, who is an entertainer to a fault, took over the interview.

"If I were in high school, I would have gone out with Aceburn. But now that I'm working, I prefer Inteleon! But if I was going to get married, it'll be to a Gorirander! (laughs). That's what we usually talk about."


▲ During the shooting, there was a moment when Ms. Yūki and Eievui's expressions were in sync. The ratio of their black eyes is so similar! The scene was filled with excitement.

Now, we're curious about the "Pokémon Girls' Club" that Ms. Yūki holds. What kind of members do you have?

"They are voice actors such as Kotori Koiwai, Yuka Maruyama, and Ayana Tsubakihime, who is active as an MC. They all love Pokémon, both the games and the anime. Before coronavirus pandemic, we would get together and cook Pokémon themed dishes. For example, we made jellies in the shape of a Messon, or a pot of grated radish that looked like Hibanny. Ah! I even made a Betbeton (Alolan form) cake!"

Ms. Yūki introduced us to the girls' party, which was as much about Pokémon mania as it was about girl power. How fun! We'd love to report on it next time! We, the Domani editorial staff, were all excited.

"Pokémon are cute and cool, and I really love them. As a Pokémon Trainer, Aoi Yūki has a soft spot for Pokémon. Don't push yourself, I'll use Full Restore right now! (laughs)"

Aoi Yūki is a Pokémon battle fan herself. I'd love to tell you more about her never-ending Pokémon talk, but that's it for this interview. アイリスがついにサトシと再会！ アニメ「ポケットモンスター」もうチェックしましたか？

毎週金曜よる６時55分からテレビ東京系にて放送中のアニメ「ポケットモンスター」。放送24周年を迎えたこの国民的人気アニメから、アニポケファンが沸いた嬉しいニュースが！ アニメ「ポケットモンスター ベストウイッシュ」のヒロイン、“アイリス”が７年ぶりにテレビシリーズに登場！

ご存じない方に説明すると、アイリスとは、2010年～13年に放送されたTVアニメシリーズに出てくる女の子。ドラゴンタイプのポケモンを自由自在に操る＝ドラゴンマスターを目指し、サトシたちと行動していましたが、イッシュ地方での旅を終えたのを機に、それぞれが別の目的地へと向かうことに。

さて、この記事は、ついに本日放送となった“アイリス再登場回”＝「ドラゴンバトル！サトシVSアイリス！！」後に公開されています。

7年の年月を経て再会した、サトシとアイリス。お互いに成長したふたりの、久々のポケモンバトルの様子は、いかがでしたでしょうか？まだ観ていない！という方もご安心あれ。ポケモン公式YouTubeチャンネルでは、見逃し配信も行われていますよ！

そして、スペシャルインタビューVol.02となる今回は、自身もとにもかくにも「ポケットモンスター」が大好き！
という悠木碧さんの、ポケモン愛について深堀りしていきます！ ポケモン好き声優・悠木 碧さんに質問！「いちばん好きなポケモンは？」

悠木 碧さんと言えば、大人気のポケモン、イーブイの(かわいすぎる)鳴き声を担当していることでも有名。そんな悠木さんに、こんな究極の質問をしてみました。ずばり、「一番好きなポケモンは？」

「え！ …シリーズごとに違いますよ(笑)。でも、カントー地方だったら、イーブイが一番ですね♡ ロコンかイーブイかでギリギリまで迷うところですが、そこは担当している贔屓目もありまして(笑)」

「あと私、ブラッキーも好きなんです。って思うと、“兄弟”で推すのもありかな、と」ブラッキーとは、イーブイが「あく」タイプに進化したポケモン。進化前と進化後を「兄弟」と表現するあたり（そしてそれをまとめて推すあたり）、悠木さんの“ポケモン好き”っぷりが伝わってきます！ この質問ををきっかけに、 「こういう話、定番で絶対盛り上がりますよね！ よくポケモン好きの友人たちと、ポケモン女子会を開くんですが、“一匹だけ自分のパートナーにするならどのポケモンにする？”ってテーマでずっと話しているんです」

と、ポケモントークに火が付いた悠木さん（＆同じくポケモン好きが集まる編集部一同）。

「そういう話をしていて、いつも私が選ぶのはレントラーです！ 私、幼少期からポケモンをずっと観てきた影響なのか、“ケモノフェチ”な一面があって(笑)。レントラーってまず、デザインがとってもかっこいい！ 顔まわりはモフモフしているのに、おなかから下は毛が少なくてすっきりしてて、そのギャップがなんかセクシー(笑)。あとね、あとね、以前の映画の中で、ポケモンたちが合唱するエピソードがあるんですけど、その中で、レントラーが突然、バスパートのボイスパーカッションを始めるんです。『ボンッ、ボンッ』って。それを見た瞬間に、『えっ！レントラー、そんなことできるんですか～⁉』って。そこでハートを撃ち抜かれちゃいました(笑)」

と、悠木さんが勢いよく話すのは、2015年の映画『ポケモン・ザ・ムービーXY 光輪の超魔人 フーパ』で同時上映された『ピカチュウとポケモンおんがくたい』の中のエピソード。現場のアニポケ担当スタッフも驚くような、かなりニッチな情報も網羅している悠木さん。

▲ ちなみに、そんな“ケモナー”な悠木さんの日々の癒しは、飼い猫のアシュベルさん(♂)のお腹をモフる＝モフモフすることだそう。

「たぶん、本人(本猫？)は、モフモフされるのそんなに好きじゃないと思うんです。でも、私のストレス値を察知して、何分かは耐えてくれるんです。その我慢してくれている姿を見て、ああ、ありがとう、こんな私に合わせてくれて…私も明日、人に優しくするね、って疲れた心をリセットしています(笑)」

そのポケモン愛に脱帽――！ “ポケモン女子あるある”な、妄想トークが止まらない♡

悠木さんのポケモントークはまだまだとどまるところをしらず、「今放送中のシリーズでいうと、もうインテレオンがかっこよすぎます！ 私、ゲームの『ポケットモンスター』もやりましたけど（『ポケットモンスター ソード』⇒『ポケットモンスター シールド』⇒『ポケットモンスター ソード』と3周したそうです）、インテレオンは常にパーティにいました。そういえば、先日放送されたインテレオン登場回(『メッソン・イン・ポッシブル！』)もかっこよかったですよね～♡ テレビの前で、きゃ～！ インテレオーン！　ファンサしてくれた～！ って大興奮しちゃいました (笑)」

インテレオンとは、ゲーム『ポケットモンスター ソード・シールド』の“最初の３匹”の中のみずタイプ、メッソンの最終進化形。「エージェントポケモン」という分類のとおり、すらりとした長身と、クールなまなざし、冷静沈着で知的な雰囲気が、確かにイケメン…いや、イケポケモン。

「『ポケットモンスター ソード・シールド』は、最初の三匹の最終進化形がどれもかっこよ過ぎますよね…！ インテレオン以外にも、エースバーン、ゴリランダー、それぞれが魅力的で一匹に決められない！ それはもう、世は三種の戦国時代に分かれていた…東のエースバーン、西のインテレオン、そして南のゴリランダーである、くらいの勢いです！(笑)」

インタビュー中に突然始まったナレーション(風)に、編集部スタッフは大爆笑。その場はどこまでもエンターテイナーな悠木さんの独壇場に。

「高校時代だったらエースバーンと付き合っちゃうな～。でも今は社会人だからインテレオンがいい！ だけど結婚するならゴリランダーだよね！ みたいな(笑)。そんな話をだいたいいつもしています(笑)」

さて、ここで気になるのは、悠木さんが開いているという“ポケモン女子会”。どんなメンバーで開催されているんですか？

「声優の小岩井ことりちゃんや丸山有香ちゃん、あとはMCなどで活躍されてる椿姫彩菜さんとかです。みんなゲームでもアニメでもポケモンが大好きなメンバー。コロナ禍になる前は、集まってポケモンをテーマにしたお料理を作ったりもしました。例えば、メッソンの形のゼリーとか、ヒバニーを大根おろしアート鍋にしたりとか。あ！ ベトベトン（アローラのすがた）のケーキなんてのも作りました！」

と、女子力と同じくらいポケモンマニアック度も高い女子会の様子を紹介してくれた悠木さん。なんて楽しそう！ 今度、ぜひその様子を取材させてください！ と腕が鳴るDomani編集部なのでした。

「ポケモンってかわいいし、かっこいいし、もうほんと愛おしいです。ポケモントレーナーとしての悠木 碧はもう、ポケモンたちに甘々です。無理しないでっ、今すぐかいふくのくすり使うね！ みたいな(笑)」

Voice Actor, Artist, Creator - Aoi Yūki (悠木 碧)

A special interview with Aoi Yūki, who plays the role of Iris for the first time in seven years in the Pocket Monsters anime, which airs on TV Tokyo every Friday at 6:55 p.m.

Following Vol. 01, where we asked her about her Anipoke reappearance, and Vol. 02, where we delved into her overflowing love for Pokémon, this time we asked her to talk about her passion for her work.

First of all, we asked the question that has become a regular feature of this interview series. Please tell us about the strengths and weaknesses of your own voice.


"The skills that make you stand out in the world as a voice actor are things like 'being able to use a variety of voices' and 'being able to speak quickly without stumbling' and thankfully, that's what people tend to focus on for me."

Ms. Yūki is famous for being able to read a manuscript of more than 300 words in 30 seconds. We could feel her sharpness during the interview. (No matter how fast she talks, she never misspeaks!)

"For example, the voice of Pikachu in the Anipoke can only be done by Ikue Otani. No matter who listens, you can tell that this is Otani voicing Pikachu. I don't have that kind of uniqueness. I don't think it's a mistake, because I've always done it that way. However, even now, I still admire the unique voice of someone, and people with that kind of voice always seem to shine."

Yūki continues to ask the editorial staff, "Did you do that yourself?"

"When you are a newcomer, you start by copying your seniors, right? You try to imitate them and then wonder why you can't do it yourself. Then there is the question, "Why can't I do it myself? After repeated attempts, when the sound is finally similar, you are faced with the question, "If the sound is similar, why isn't the performance similar? That's when I finally learned the meaning of "drama". I went through those two stages before I realized that that's what it means to put your heart into something. In the process, I imitated various wonderful senior actors and then went back to them again and again. I may have become much more adept now, but I haven't yet reached my potential. I am aware of that."


To make what you love into a career, you have to master what you are good at and never give up on what you love.

The viewers of the Anipoke are of course adults who are Pokémon fans like Ms. Yūki, but there are also many children who are just starting out. When I asked her to give a message to the children of Japan who are pursuing their dreams, she replied,

Ms. Yūki gave us this advice, prefaced it by saying, "Can I say something really realistic?"

"In the future, what will you choose to do between, what you are good at and what you love? In such cases, choose something you are good at. That doesn't mean that you should give up what you love, but try to keep it as a hobby. That's what happened to me. In fact, I wanted to be a painter. However, I have been learning since I was a child, and I was good at acting, so I made that my main occupation. But now, I'm able to work as a painter as well."




"We live in an age where you can get as much information as you want if you want it. If you keep at it and don't give up, depending on your talents and opportunities, the time will surely come when you will be able to blossom. The first step is to build a foundation for your life, make what you are good at your job. Then, continue to do what you love as a hobby with plenty of time to spare. I think that is the secret to making your dreams come true."

What can you expect from yourself in 10 years

Finally, when you envision yourself 10 years from now, what kind of person would you like to be?

"I would still like to continue working as a voice actor. Now that I'm doing creative work, I'd like to make use of that experience and become a creator who can see the work from all perspectives, from the creator's point of view, from the performer's point of view, and from the fan's point of view."

In the "YUKI x AOI Chimera Project," which started in 2020, Ms. Yūki is responsible for planning, drafting, and even character design. Her worldview is full of her own style and novelty, and we look forward to seeing more of her work in the future.

"I think that the number of people who can do everything themselves, both as actors and creators, will increase in the future. There are actually senior members who are taking on such challenges. As someone who is involved in the field, I want to be one of the first to take advantage of this trend and make it a reality. The main ideal is to create a work that can be enjoyed from any point of view: the creator, the actor, and the fan...but I don't think I can do it in 10 years... (laughs). I still have a lot of things to reflect on, such as the fact that I don't have enough knowledge and experience, and that I have a narrow perspective."

「まだまだ芝居の真髄にはたどり着けてない」。悠木さんの想う、自身の声の「強み」と「弱み」

アニポケ再登場についてを聞いたVol.01、あふれるポケモン愛を深堀りしたVol.02に続いて、今回は、仕事にかける想いについて、じっくりと話してもらいました。

まずは、このインタビュー連載の定番となっているこの質問。「ご自身の声の『強み』と『弱み』を教えてください」。
声優・悠木碧▲「そうですね…。自分の声を客観視するのはとても難しいんですが…」と、少し考えてから、丁寧に言葉を紡ぐ悠木さん。今回の記事も撮りおろしポートレートと一緒にお届けします！
「声優としての技術で世の中的に目立つのって、“いろいろな声が出る”とか“早口で噛まずに話せる”とか、そういうスキルですよね。そしてありがたくも私はそこに注目していただくことが多いです」
30秒間で300字以上の原稿を読み切ることで有名な悠木さん。その活舌の良さはインタビュー中にもビシビシと伝わってくるものがありました（どんなに早口でも絶対に噛まないんです！）。「ただ、“いろいろな声が出る”って、逆にいえば“この人と言えばこの声だよね”がないとも言えて…」、と続ける悠木さん。
「例えば“アニポケ”でいうと、ピカチュウのあの声って、大谷育江さんしか出せないもの。誰が聴いても、あ、これは大谷さんだ、大谷さんのピカチュウだってわかりますよね。そういう、唯一無二の強みっていうのが私にはない。『自分でそうしてきた』っていうところがあるから、それを間違ってたと思わないんですけどね。ただ、今でもやっぱり、唯一無二の声にすごく憧れたりとか、そういう声の持ち主が輝いてみえることはあります」

編集部からの「自分でそうしてきたんですか？」という問いに、悠木さんは続けます。
「新人時代って誰だって、先輩の猿真似をするところから始まるじゃないですか。マネをしてみて、なんで自分じゃできないんだろう？がある。繰り返しトライして、やっと音が似たら、今度は音が似たのになんで芝居が似ないんだろう？ってところに直面する。そこでやっと“芝居”の意味を知ったというか。なるほど…、心が入るってそういうことなんだ、ってところに辿り着くまでに、その２段階くらいを経てきました。その過程でいろんな素敵な先輩のマネをしてはまた戻ってを繰り返して…。いまはだいぶ小器用にはなったかもしれないけれど、真髄までは辿り着いていない。そんな自覚があります」

声優・悠木碧▲自分にないものを掴みたい、憧れる先輩たちに近づきたい。そうやってぎゅっと背伸びをしながらも、自分自身のステップを着実に登ってきた、そんな悠木さんの姿が伝わってくる回答でした。 好きを仕事にするためには、「得意なこと」を極めることと「好きなこと」をあきらめないこと。

“アニポケ”の視聴者は、悠木さんのようなポケモンファンの大人たちももちろんですが、これから社会に羽ばたいていく子どもたちもたくさんいます。そんな夢を追う令和の子どもたちへのメッセージをお願いしたところ、

「あの、すご～く現実的なことを言ってもいいですか？」と前置きして、悠木さんはこんなアドバイスをくれました。

「将来、得意なことと、好きなこと。どっちを仕事にしよう？って迷ったとき。そんなときは、“得意なこと”を選ぶようにしてください。そして、それは好きなことをあきらめろっていうわけじゃなくて、趣味として続けてみてください。…というのも、私自身がそうだったんです。本当は、絵を描く人になりたかったんです。ただ、子供のころから習ってきて、自分が得意だったのがお芝居だったので、そっちを本職にしたんですけど。でもね、今、絵を描く仕事もできるようになっているんです」

声優・悠木碧▲カメラ越しに、ふと悠木さんと目が合った瞬間をパチリ。

「今って、その気になればいくらでも自分で自分を発信できる時代です。あきらめずに続けていれば、才能やきっかけ次第で、それが花開くときがきっと来ます。まずは生活の土台を作る＝得意なことを仕事にする。そして好きなことは趣味として、余裕をもって続けていく。それが夢を叶える秘訣なんじゃないかなって思います」 作り手も演じ手も、楽しんで取り組める作品作りを！ 10年後の自分に期待すること

最後に、10年後を思い描いた時、どんな自分になっていたいですか？

「やっぱりまだ声優のお仕事はつづけていたいな、と思います。いま、自分自身もクリエイティブな仕事をしているので、その経験も生かして、作り手の気持ち、出演者としての気持ち、ファンとしての気持ち、どの視点からも作品を捉えられるクリエイターになっていたいなと思います」

2020年から始動した『YUKI×AOIキメラプロジェクト』では、企画・原案・キャラクターデザインまでを担っている悠木さん。悠木さんらしさと新しさが詰まっているその世界観は、今後の活躍がますます楽しみになります。

「演じ手も作り手も、なんでも自分でやってのける人材が今後増えていくと思うんです。実際にそういうチャレンジをしている先輩方もいらっしゃいますし。現場にかかわっている人間として、いち早くその風に乗って、極めていきたいです。作り手、演じ手、受け手、どの視点から見ても楽しめる作品作りが理想。う～ん、でも10年じゃ無理かな～(笑)。まだまだ見聞が全然足りないな、視野が狭いなと反省することがたくさんあります」
