Summary:

Volt is the first opening for the Japanese version of Pocket Monsters XY. The song features singer Yusuke (遊助).

The opening starts with a Monster ball on a table in a field and Pikachu comes up to it and sniffs it and pushes it away. It then sees the camera and licks it as the familiar text is shown on the bottom of the screen: The mysterious creatures of this planet Pocket Monsters... "Pokémon" for short! (この星の不思議な生き物 ポケットモンスター・・・ ちぢめてポケモン！) Now the story of the encounters, adventures and battles of Satoshi and the Pokémon begins! (今、サトシとポケモンたちの出会いと冒険と戦いの物語がはじまる！)

The lyrics list all the different types of Pokémon as corresponding scenes with the various types of Pokémon are shown. The next scene feature Satoshi and Pikachu eating sandwiches and has a distinct blue color to his picture which is shown in the top right part of the screen. It then transitions to Serena with a pink style as she decides on which hat to wear. Citron is next and he is working on an invention which explodes. Rocket Gang are then seen in their air balloon.

Satoshi and Pikachu run in a field until they come upon a cliff that appears and the silhouettes of the gym leaders are then displayed. Serena and Citron then grab hold of Satoshi's shoulders and Eureka grabs his wrist as they jump and run into the open field.

Satoshi and Pikachu are shown once again as in battle this time and Pikachu's Quick Attack, Iron Tail and Thunderbolt are featured as it battles different Pokémon. Citron's Pokémon are then showcased and Serena's Fokko is shown and a Lucario is then seen.

Xerneas and Yveltal then transition into the Pocket Monsters XY logo as the final hero shot and credits finish up the opening sequence.
