TV Tokyo held its regular president's press conference in Roppongi, Tokyo, on December 1st, 2022, and they talked about Satoshi, the main character of the TV animation Pocket Monsters (airing Fridays at 6:55 pm), who became the world champion for the first time since the show started broadcasting in 1997.

President Ichiro Ishikawa was embarrassed to comment on an anime character for the first time, but said, "I heard that fans around the world sent their congratulations to Satoshi for winning the championship. We are very happy to see Satoshi's achieve this, and we would like to celebrate this as well." he said.

Toshisuke Hiraoka, General Manager of the Animation Business Division said, "Now that Satoshi has become the world champion for the first time in 25 years, people will be watching closely to see what will happen to him next. We will be providing information on Satoshi's future adventures in the anime, so I hope you will look forward to it."

The painting on the wall seems to be painted in a similar style to that of the Russian Romantic painter Ivan Aivazovsky's Stormy Sea at Night piece and his best work, The Ninth Wave. It is possible that this was foreshadowing or a nod to the 9th Generation of Pokémon which would start the week after this episode originally aired in Japan with the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
